Talking Got My Rear Fog! 56K alert!

Ok I finally got my rear Accord Fog light. I know I'm not the first but I know you guys like pictures.

I sourced it from an international member here on the forum. He asked not to be referenced because he didn't want a whole bunch of requests for parts from members. Sorry guys.

Thanks to "mystery member" it only took a week to ship And thanks to my Wife for entertaining me by letting me buy this crap.

Here it is enjoy. I haven't wired it up seperatly yet, but I was to anxious not to install it.

Ok the install is fairly simple.

Tools you need.
8mm socket
Socket Wrench
6" extention
Philips Screwdriver
1 Bevereage of choice

First open the trunk lid. There are a total of 3 screws. 2 on the left and 1 on the right. Looking upward on the left of the lid you will see two plastic screws. Unscrew them with the philips about half an inch and pull straight down they should come right out. If not rethread a little more and try again.
When reinstalling simply press back in, no need to screw.

Next you will see two rubber "stops" on the left and right of the lid. For the left side pull up the left part and then slide the "stop" to the left. The right side is done the opposite direction. They only go in one way. The one with the hole is pushed in when reinstalled.

Next is the trunk lid lining. Simply slide the lining up and over the trunk latch assy.
Next do the same to the trunk handle as well. It takes a little cohersing, and will seem stuck at first.

Then peel the lining back just enough to access the bolts and bulb sockets to the light assy. There are three 8mm bolts. Unpludg the bulb connectors. Then, loosen and remove the bolts. The light lifts up and out. Installation is reverse of removal.

I hope this is helpful for anyone. Took me about 30 mins. I took pics with the car in reverse and just disconnected the right reverse. Until I wire it up correctly as an auxillary fog unit. Now I'm wondering:

1. Should I leave the fog unplugged for now and have one reverse light.
2. Leave it plugged in and have one clear reverse one red.
3. Jump a wire from the parking light, so it is always illuminated when my lights are on?

Please don't jump the wire and let it illuminate all the time. It really bothers drivers behind you, trust me. Lots of MB, Volvo owners did it and it's just annoying.
I would recommend you to wire it seperately and have a button dedicate to it. You can put it next to the VSA button.

Is it one side or both?

I saw a car with both and it's just doesn't look right. Actuall it looks stupid because people think you have both brake lights on.

My old car, C36 had the driver side rear lamp fog only and it's the same with all the other euro cars.

i wanna do this mod too but only the driver side.

What does the actual light look like before it's put in to the trunk? And how much brighter is it? Very? A little?

It's just the driver side. If it were both I wouldn't have reverse lights. ANd that would suck.

It looks like this, it replaces the whole left trunk assy. It's a bright as when you press the brakes. It utilizes the single filament 7440 bulb. I fergot to post these.

So if you were in heavy rain or foggy condition, people in the back can see you. MB, Volvos, and many euro cars have them.

My wife has a Volvo V50 and has the light. Good for winter driving on the PA turnpike in snowstorms...

With the TSX I would think it is a bit useless as most of the time I will be passing instead of being passed.

Does it come with a switch that you can put next to the VSA switch?

So when you put your car in reverse, the right light is white and the left light is a bright red?

Did you not read what he posted like 6 posts up from your post?

Have you seen the replacement stalk for the Accord that has the Rear fogs on switch? I doubt it would be plug and play tho.

So it's like when he apply brake there are 2 lights instead of one?

I always thought the perimeter of the fog light (the white/clear rim) still lights up as a reverse light??

no... there is a light inside the reverse light (that little red circle) that stays lit all the time. It has nothing to do with the brakes at all. He was just saying its as bright as a brake light. You really haven't ever seen these on Volvos or Mercedes?

The cooler thing would be to have the parking light like the MB's. The one that you can leave on 24/7 when you are parked on the street.

Nope it doesn't come with a switch thats ordered seperately. I also believe its on the stalk as MichaelkTSX says.

But for now, yes, I have one red and one clear reverse. That is until I get time to wire it up independently and buy an Accord fog switch I can put on the panel.

Nope just one reverse light remains.
