Finally replaced stock fog lights, thanks Excelerate

I finally had enough of the stock foggies and swapped them out, harness and all. I went with clear film on the password JDM light kit I bought from Excelerate, as it came with yellow lenses. I matched those with my old H11 Hoen Endurance yellows. I took the pictures at dusk, probably could have waited til it was darker, but damn these things seem even brighter/and more yellow than before.

I pulled the stock harness and stock lights, may have to throw them in the BM for cheap to get them out of my garage.

Sorry, it had been raining a lot, so the car isnt very clean, but you get the idea.

Thanks

The stock housings had yellow film and could only be turned on while the low beams where on. This is a JDM kit from password that allows the lights to be run with parking, highbeams, etc. A good thread thats on-going is under perform/mods, type in "rewire" in the search.

If my co worker doesent buy the stock ones, I will put them in BK section and PM you. I am not trying to make much off, as they are used so will be cheap if I list them.

...and yes, these are hella yellow, which works great for me, as it doesnt rain much here, but I live near two lakes and about 3 rivers all with crossings I drive over, hence a lot of early morning and late night fog. Yellow light cuts through the best, so these will help tremendously.

Thanks mane!

The password lights fit and finish are superb, they fit better than the ebay replacements I used to replace a cracked housing. The lights are standard 55w H11s, not sure how the bulbs are as I never used them. I made a few modifications to the harness, which I will post in foglight re-wire section or PM me if you have other questions. The glass yellow lenses are high quality and I like the look over the film I used before. You pay more for the JDM Password lights (still cheaper than stocks), but I think you get what you pay for. The only thing I am going to change is the interior switch color, as its more amber and doesnt match the green or white lights as well. A simple colored sleeve will fix that though.

Yes, passwordjdm.com is who sells these. They are in a passwordjdm package with a few stickers for good messure. English instructions to boot, but there is 2 mods I made to the install, which is covered on another thread.

Im not sure if they are more resistant, but the glass lenses are pretty thick. I am sure the right rock or road debris hit though would crack just about anything. Excelerate's price was better as it included shipping which was about a $40-$50 dollar savings. He explained passwordjdm dropships them to him then he sends them out, so shipping does take a few weeks, but its worth the wait IMO.

S14, We are going to took at things this saturday, so I will keep you posted. In the mean time, does your housing type have the adjustment spring, or the other without the spring?

sweetness. Let me know if you have any questions about the install. The only thing I did different was wiring with an inline fuse to the battery instead of the fusebox for power from the relay. I used the PDF instructions posted on the re-wire thread. Worked like a charm.

What lowbeams are you running? I see a hint of blue in that first picture. Got any more shots of them, and do you like them?

Yes, the money you save with excelerate is worth the extra wait. Didnt actually deal with password, but I am assuming it took them awhile to get them to Excel before he could mail them to me.

Well, like I said, I wouldnt know about Password direct, I dealt only with Excelerate, which is was upfront with the fact they wouldnt dropship them to me, but had to be to him first. So the patience part was only for those who ordered through him and not password. Hopefully yours will get in soon though, Im eager to see 'em

l1startsx: did you aim the fog light lower or something -- or is there even a way to aim foglights? how did you get the yellow concentrated in the front so much? Mine is so spread out, it looks really light yellow.

Kinda prewired. There are some adapters that fit the JDM kit perfect, but I made two modifications based on what I wanted. Here is a great tutorial that will show the only modification you would need to make if you cannot find the 2 pin connector under the fuse box...its pretty far down next to the engine itself. It involves extending the green wire through the firewall.

In all honesty, the modification only takes about 10 minutes, the longest part of the install involved getting the 20 pin connector unlocked...which is why I wired it to the battery instead. If you re-wire to the battery, make sure you use an inline fuse, otherwise by tapping inton the 20 pin vehicle connector, the lights will work the same.

Here is a link to the instructions that work great for the kit, PDF install

There is an aiming mechanism on the lights, I actually didnt have to aim anything, they fall just below the cutoff where my HIDs stop and fill the front and most importantly, the sides with a flood of light. The only other reason they may look super yellow, is that I used Hoen H11 Endurance (very yellow) bulbs.

I will take some pictures when I get off work of the install and post them here.

BTW, we had heavy fog this morning on the way to work and these things worked like a dream. I couldnt see well with the HIDs, but could see well out in front and to the sides with the fogs on, so I killed the HIDS and drove with just the parking lights and fogs on. The result was no refraction from the HIDs.

Thanks Mane

And to an earlier question on if these hold up any better than stock lights with chips....NO. I Highly recommend getting the fog light kit from Rockblocker for 17bucks or anyone that sells them. My friend put these lights in (same ones passwordjdm) a few months before me and he managed to crack the lense this past week. The crack isnt all the way through, you cant feel it, just see it, but its still the way it goes with lights so low (he has a drop).

Looking good FZ427! Are you running the stock bulbs that come with the kit? It looks plenty yellow already even without the Heon Endurance bulbs.

I've been reading up on JDM foglight installs and it seems that there are some differences from installing the USDM ones. Apparently the JDM kit requires you to extend the wires as it's not long enough for a LHD car, and the JDM uses a positive input to the foglight relay (instead of positive).

Is that the same for the JDM Password kit?

Looks Pimp! Great job man.

Password kit does need to be extended if you go by the PDF file. Some have had luck with the connectors matching, so it depends on what year your TSX is, mine didnt match, I have an 04.

The main reason for the extension, is the connectors under the fuse box under the hood dont match up, so you extend from the relay. I used a small spade bit (the ones with a hole in them below the tip) to twist the wire too, then pushed it through the rubber firewall plug.

kuri : Thanks. Yes I am running the stock light bulbs and also yes we had to extend one wire to the fuse box inside the engine bay. The instructions were not 100 % helpull because it says for the 2003 Accord and I guess this are for the euro - Accord. The cool thing about this fog lights is that I can turn them on anytime I want to.

I finally returned home to find the JDM Password foglights waiting for me, but it looks like the brackets were broken off during shipping.

I just emailed Josh to let him know. Hopefully he can still do something about it.
