Finally, new rims!

So, I finally recieved my RZ-5 I got for christmas last tuesday ( ) and I was wondering what you guys think about them.

Also, sorry for the tiny pics. at work so don't have much to work with.

Would have gotten 18" but parents disagreed with the pricing.
I personally believe they will blend much better once i get window tint and a few inches worth of drop. What do you think?

I agree, 18's would have been perfect, but its a bit outta my price as not only would I have had to buy rims, but new tires also.

I'm think about getting some new rotors and brakes etc., these rims have sizely gaps between the spokes and would really show some mean disc's off.

Looks OK to me, but as long as you like them, that's all that matters. You are in need of some major droppage.

Somehow the 17" black rims on black cars just looks smaller than it's actual size.
I think the solution would be to go smaller tires instead of the stock size, lowering the car would probably be another option.

I thought that was gonna come up. I didn't buy the rims, I got them for christmas from my grandparents/parents. I'm hoping to save up money on my own to buy a big brake kit.

and you think you are going to fit a big break kit under those wheels you need 18 for most big brake kits or atleast flat spoke race rims. the chances of fitting a big break kit under those is very slim. you also know that the cheapest big brake kit you can get for the tsx is 1200. I love it when young kids want a hot car and want to mod it nice but have no idea what they are even doing. the results are hilarious.

Correct. Let's hope you have a formidable job to back up the funds for one big brake kit.

BTW. Did you get the OEM Michelin MXM4's?

Jesus Christ Colts! Give the guy a break- he's 16 years old. It wasn't that long ago you were the same age, remember?
Did you know your arse from your elbow back then?
Instead of being condescending toward him, how about being more helpful and imparting your 'wisdom' to him in a more constructive manner?

Oh, btw - it generally helps if you're going to try and be aloof, that you actually are (see the bold word in your quote).
At least the 16 yo can spell correctly as well as punctuate!

You don't need our approval - so long as you're happy with them, that's all that matters.
I agree with Ron - they would look better with a lower sidewall profile - but you can do that when the tyres are needing replaced.

I'm not really feeling your rims. You car looks like 4x4 so I suggest getting some suspension before upgrading your break kit. You dont like your stock rims?

More often than not, I actually proof read my replies for grammar and ease of reading.
It doesn't cost anything to spell correctly or punctuate - a few extra seconds is all it takes.
But you missed the point I was making - no point making someone look a fool, if you look a fool yourself. You can somewhat get away with the former if you take care of the latter.

Bottom line, give those with less knowledge than yourself the benefit of said knowledge in a way that doesn't ridicule them for not knowing as much as you seem to.
No-one minds constructive criticism, but everyone deplores arrogance.

Haaha, yes, please keep in mind I am 16. The main reason I browse these forums is to learn. Any suggestions or comments on what I should modify next are appreciated.

Also, everyone is entitled to their own oppinion. If you hate my rims, go ahead and tell me! I promise its not gonna offend me, but it would be nice if you gave me some sorta clue as what I could do to make it better.

Yes you are 16 but that doesnt mean you cant use the internet to learn before wanting mod your car. If you really really want to get a big brake kit next then your wheels actually made you go backwards. however you really dont need a big brake kit at all for the tsx. the brakes are more than powerful enough for this car.that come on it. the big brake kit would only be for looks unless you have a supercharger, intake, header, exhaust.

yes I hate the rims. you wanted my opinion that is it. to make then look better first off you could lower the car. however to lower it enough to make 17s look right on the tsx you would need to lower it like 2 inches or more. along with doing that comes needing to change your driving habits or you will end up scraping the crap out of your front end. you need to go into any steep driveways or entrances at an extreme angle. you need to go over speed bumps at an angle usually taking up both lanes. however this is only if you lower it like 2.5-3 inches which is what is needed in my opinion to make 17s look right.

example:

so for your next mod depends on what you want to do. I would say lower it on some coilovers, however if you want more power than get an intake.

before I can tell you what you should do next I need to know what you want to do to the car.

Quick Reply: Finally, new rims!
