Faux MT when really a AT

For long as I can remember, I have always had MT. Now married and living with DC traffic, I have given into getting in AT. I now have had my TSX AT for over a month now. I miss having MT. To alleviate my pain, I have installed a shift boot and knob on top of my AT. Tell me what you think? Is it cheesy?

Interesting. Doesn't look bad at all.

But this should really get a rise out of the MT snobs

Just inform the valet or your TSX will be getting driven and parked in SS 1st gear.

If not, how you going to know what gear your in?

It doesn't and with an AT, you don't need to know.

Ronin13, nice change. I like it.

Nope you can't tell unless you either shift into SS mode when you are wondering, or estimate based on rpm & speed (or the lack of power). Of course you can also count from 1-2-3...etc

There's Neutral and D3, mind you D3 is right at the bottom so it should'nt be a problem.

Right, but it still doesn't tell you what gear you're in at the time. All D3 does is tell the transmission that you want to stay in the lower gears to keep the power up.

I know, thats why I'm worried Ronin may get confused since the shifter is now covered.

I heard about this operation, that can turn a woman into a man. People need to do what they feel is right.

Damn, I step away for 15 mins and all you responded.

After driving the car for over a month, I just remember feel and position where the stick is. Also, the positions are universal like my wife's TL. Besides, if I don't know what position I'm in, look on dash. This includes if I go into SS (1-5)

jcg, I have to admit that post went right over my head.

What does 8=D mean?

In that second pic, fdl is the guy on the right, he's 6'4

I get the leaf thing

But I'm lost on that currency pic

As for fdl, he's just upset that his nonna now prefers riding in my car instead.

Speaking of polls.

AT - 127
MT - 124

And that pitch was going about 55, right down the center of the plate

Where did you get the shift boot? also does it work with the stock shift knob, not to bite your style but it looks pretty good...

It should work fine with the stock knob. Acutally it looks like much nicer material than OEM.
