F@&ck I-95 and road debris :(

so it was good morning, my car hit 70k

then 2 minutes later, BANG! this effing metal rod comes out from under an audi in front of my and hits my car. They were repairing guard rails right next to us so i think it was from them.
I get off 95 only to find this...

WTF?????? it was half in my bumper and half sticking out. alittle higher and that thing would hve been thru my skull.

and both of my fogs already cracked!! within 2 weeks.
I was saving up to lower it, but looks like the money will be going to a new bumper

in cases like this, can't you file a complaint to the city and get some money to fix your car?

I feel for you man. I hit a piece of a plastic bumper left on the freeway at 75 and it put a nice gash near my driver side wheel well.

wow omg i didn't think it would stick into your bumper like that. be glad it didn't hit your windshield because the speed it took to go through your bumper would cause a big crack in your windshield if it was to hit it (God forbid going through the windshield)

i really hope you can file a claim. that looks incredibly dangerous.

its amazing what the construction workers forget, some fucking idiot left a shovel in the fast lane...was going 80, shovel was in the middle of the lane, tried to go over it with the shovel in the center...hit the underside of my car...luckly only banged up the exhaust and left a tiny dent.

Like others have said, file a claim with the city's department of transportation. Hope you still have that rod.

yeah ive been thinking maybe a custom tow hook? lol

and yeah im already tryin to file a claim with either the city or with penndot since they are doing the work. I have a couple friends who are philly cops and they are writing up an incident report for me so at least i have something to back me up alittle
..

oh and forgot to mention, later that day i went to pick up my ronjon rim from getting fixed(it was cracked) and they fixed it, but scratched the hell out of the face. so now they are going to see what they can do with it.
The worst part is that they just tried to give it to me and act like it wasnt there!!!!!!!!!!!! worst day ever

Contact the "risk management" department of either the city or the county depending whether that portion of the road is in an incorporated or unincorporated area.

I was able to collect money one time from a municipality after my car hit a pothole and I got a flat tire.

Good luck

Dang, that sucks man. I'm glad that it didn't hit higher though. I hope you get it fixed. Maybe look into an aftermarket bumper?

I feel your pain. I once hit a flat dolly with wheels on the freeway. Once of those metal dollys used to help move big appliances.

i was detailing a 07 vette for my body shop guy yesterday and he said he could fix the bumper and my front lip)which cracked on 95 too 2 months ago) and clear the whole bumper and lip. lol something like that. he is going to do it all for $250. so im pretty pumped.

he said the bumper will look brand new which is cool since it has all kinds of rock chips on it.

and im going to leave it with him while im in disney world at the end of the month so i wont be without my car!
wooooooooooo
