Euro Accord Rear Fog INSTALLED!!

Finally had my friend installed the rear fog light for me.
Now it is operated by a 2004 Honda Accord fog light switch.
It fits perfect in TSX and the color even match.

Before its on:

Rear fog light on:

Fog light switch:

The rear fog light is wired to the parking light, so it will turn on when at least the park light is turn on. My friend tried to hook it up to the low beam headlight, but seems it will be too difficult...so we just don't bother and the park light option seems fine to me. Good thing is when the park light automatcially turn off, it will turn off the fog light as well, so there is no worry for leaving the fog light on and drain the battery. It took my friend a bit over a hour to wire everything, so if any DIY-ers out there...its not that hard to do.

Parts needed for this Mod:

1)2004 Honda Accord Fog Light Assembly Switch
Because the switch is original included w/ the Accord fog light kit, it is not listed
on the normal Accord part catalog. But you can still get it as a special order,
most likely the dealership do not stock this switch, but it only takes one day
for them to special order it from their Honda warehouse and I got it the next
day. The switch cost me around $48Cad plus tax. It is a bit pricy, but I like to
keep it a stock/clean look, so I think it worth every penny.

2)2004 Euro Accord Rear Fog Light Assembly
As you guys can see what the fog light looks like, I order it from a Germany
Honda Accord dealership. I would say communication is the key factor. I literally
emailed all the Germany/Turkish/Netherland Honda dealerships and waited for
someone to reply me back. Took some effort for online translation, finally got
one that will sell this unit to me. Cost wise, the rear tail light is around 100Cad
or a bit more. But it cost almost the same to express ship the unit to me.
But since the 9-11, it took additional 2 weeks or so to receive the package. So,
I paid express shipping fees and get super snarl mail service :<

3)Wiring (LONG wire)
You need a long piece of wire to hook up the rear fog light from the rear trunk to
the front of the car to hook up to the switch. It is a lot easier to hook the wire
park light instead of the headlight (low beam). My friend David who did it for me
is a professional installer, it took him about a hour to finish the wiring for me. So
if you are not too familiar w/ installation, it may take a bit longer.

4)Function
Now the rear fog light can be activate once the park light is turn on w/ the new
fog light switch. If the engine is turned off while the park light & rear fog lamp
is still ON, both will turn itself off automatically after the engine off as well. So
no fear for accidentially drain the battery.

Again, very cool. What does the assembly look like? What all comes with it? Is it the entire back tail light or just a seperate housing for that reverse, etc?

Also, if I were to contact a Accord dealer in the UK, would the light be on the other side? If anybody wants to order a couple, I'll get in on a group buy. Once they get arrive in the US, we can just ship them easily using USPS.

TSXsurf,

http://www..com/forums/showthread.php?t=4257

You can goto this site to check out the package when it arrived.
The assembly is just the rear tail light assembly, a complete unit you can just swap it w/ the stock unit.

If you want to order one from UK, just want to let you know, the rear tail light will be on the right hand side (UK driver seat is on the right hand side).

Sorry, you got the right one. Thats what the assembly looks like right out from the box.

As for the part number, the rear fog light switch part number is 08V31-SDA-1M035.
Its a 2004 Honda Accord fog light switch.

And for the fog light, yes I can turn on the rear fog light whenever I want as long as the park light is turn on as well.
