ETCC: The new Honda Accord
First test for new Accord
ETCC 28/04/04
JAS Motorsport’s brand new Honda Civic 2.0i in the FIA Super 2000 technical specifications, completed its first test today, at the Italian racetrack of Adria. “It was only a shake down. Just a few laps before sending back the car to our workshop, where we will finish working on the details and the livery before sending it to Magny-Cours for racing in the ETCC meeting,” the team’s technical director Stefano Fini explained.
JAS regular ETCC driver, Alessandro Balzan, was at the wheel. “Alessandro was very pleased. The few laps he completed today were enough to see that the Accord at the very beginning of its development is already as good as the Civic Type-R we have used so far,” said Fini.
The Honda Accord 2.0i completed this first test in Adria without any technical problems, which was a very good omen in view of its first appearance in the fifth and sixth rounds of the FIA European Touring Car Championship, this weekend on the French circuit of Nevers Magny-Cours.
