DDM 6000K HID Fogs + 6000k Low Beam

http://www.ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html

DDM 35 Watt Slim Ballast HID Kit $64.95
I chose 35W cuz 55W will be too much heat and might melt/crack the foglight housing/lense.

The ballasts surprised me, they are very solid and slim!!!!!
here are some quick phone pics i took. low beam replacement 6000k d2s bulbs and 6000k hid h11 kitfor foglights.

I bought the DDM one, but they gave me Apexcone sticker with the hid kit, so i guess they are same brand.

D2S Low-Beam Replacement

H11 HID Kit for Fogs

Please excuse my noobness on taking pics with low lighting :o.
The color matched pretty well and its so much brighter than my stock 4300k and regular H11 foglight I had.

No, thats not neon glow under the car, its my blue LED on the front passenger door and dome light lol. feeling the fast and the furious? rofl

running ddm tuning in the headlights and fogs too, slim ballast made it easy to mount.
loving my 3k fogs.

there 6k-8k are basically the same color.

also ddm and apexcone are not the same thing, ddm is just a distributor of apexcone

If they are just a distributor of Apexcone, the comparison cannot be established lol.

Ordered on: 02/06/2009 Friday 1 am
Delivered On: 02/11/2009 ORANGE, CA
Shipped On: 02/10/2009 Wednesday

took them few days to process the order tho, maybe it was weekend, but still was 4 business days to process it.
maybe you should try to call and contact them. did they ever send you UPS shipping notice? sounds like they skipped the order. try to contact them first. good luck!

havent tried OEM foglight kit install, but there are many write ups, they REALLY help

I just tap my foglights to my parking lights. so it was not hard.

weird, they could be out of stock, my friend told me they recently ran out of 6k kits.

apexcone has a lot of prestige and are really high quallity. but the ddm tuning products are pretty solid. my friend installed ddm h11 for fogs and he was a lazy ass and didnt mount the ballast so the ballast are flying around in his wheel wells and hes had them for over half a year.

most are HID kits a pretty good, you see a whole bunch of people hitting their ballast with hammers to demonstrate their durability. i chose ddm cause it was local and their price is the cheapest ive found for a HID kit.

Jim, which model did you ordered?

I was going to order the "Raptor Brand HID" but they were OOS so I ordered the one I have right now.

Here are some pics helping a friend on the forums to compare with his HID cut-off line.
So I think I'd post the pics up here as a update :p.... its been about 1 month. so the bulbs are burnt in already so the color is pretty white, not blueish at all in my opinion.

Anybody have any opinions on the Raptor brand ones? They are 35 Watts and ONLY $40 bucks on the DDM website!

Also, which light would be most likely to match with the OEM HID's? 4500, 5000, or 6000?

Thank you!

Really? I called the company today and they said that the raptor ones are just different ballasts. They also said that the bulbs, if in new condition and really soon after receiving, can be returned for a different color if I'm not happy. Not bad for 40 bucks. What all is everyone's experience with these?

I can get my gf's low beams and my fogs for under 100 bucks shipped. ALso, was concerned with output of 35 watt HID's but i looked it up and I had 35 watt mcculloch on my RSX w/great output!

Went the same route as you with the raptor kit though...new DS2 bulbs for 35 bucks...and a raptor kit for 40 bucks for the fogs. Went with 6000K and it looks amazing...it's a perfect match...and it's JUST bluer than stock to separate it from ALL THE OTHER TL's I see out there. I love it, especially on my nbp.

Ended up ordering a kit for my gf's 08 accord coupe too...seriously?!?! projectors with halogen bulbs...wtf??!?!

She's super happy too!

Thread resurrection...I know I know
But just had a quick question about the wiring on the bulbs. In the pic above, the red and black wiring is only for when you have a hi-low controller right? So you don't need it for fogs..correct? What did you do with it?

Uh..there's no place for it on the ballast.
You're not getting the question I guess...
There's 4 different wires on the bulb..the red and black wires lead to a larger male plug on the lower side and a larger female plug on the bulb side and neither seem to have anythin to do with the bulb since they just run through the rubber waterproof seal thing the bulbs come with. There's also no way to connect them to the ballast at all unless you don't wanna plug in your ballast to the power. The other two wires lead to smaller male and female plugs which DO plug into the ballast.
My question is what the other two larger plugs are for. I believe they're only for a hi-low beam controller which I don't have since this is being installed in my fogs. If they were being installed into headlights I see how they might be used but right now they don't make sense...

i dont remember if I have any plugs that were left not used.

If my memory is correct, here is how they were connected.

The H11 connects to your OEM foglight power source (the bulb base or whatever you call it)

I think I removed the H11 cable out of the rubber sealer because it was in the way or something.

I didnt' use the bottom blue or the green one in the pic above.
I electrical taped them off. Use some dielectric grease, tie wraps and double sided tape and you should be in business.

^^I ended up not using them either. The plug wouldn't even fit into the 9006 plug from the car so there was no way I could use it anyways. Plugged the car's 9006 plug straight into the ballast and they're working fine now. Kinda feel like cutting that whole thing off cuz it doesn't do anything for me anyways. Thanks for trying to help me out tho

Did either of you have to flip the plug? Apparently polarity was switched on the driver's side so I had to plug it in with that little holding tab down and then it worked. I almost threw a fit cuz I switched bulbs, ballasts and everything worked on the passenger side but not the driver's side.

The polarity on Japanese cars is opposite as are many foreign cars. I have the DDM kit in my fogs and it works great.
