Acura TLS are SLOW
350D is a very nice camera. The only thing that I find inconvenience is the setting display located on the the back of the camera instead of on top and the camera being too small for a DSLR. The L series lens are not light at all, which is not proportion when paired with the 350D. I am a Camera Freak and love to explore features on a new product on the market. As far as a walk around camera, I went with a 20D and i have not had a complaint other than the wastes built in flash. Excellent pictures btw.

Any other thoughts on the 350D? I was looking at it for my next purchase. Is that shorter lens good for super close macro shots or would that require a separate lens? I don't mind spending the $700 on the camera, just would like to get maybe 2 good lenses to cover most situations. Any night shots with it?

Some good lens that can be paired with any occasions, I recommend are Canon EFS 17-85mm ($600) and a Canon EF 75-300mm ($500) Both with Image Stabilizer. If you want a wide angle, than get EFS 10-22mm ($600). These are Very good combination of lens. Still are not "L" Series but definitely worth every penny. The thing is, Something like 350D, 20D, 10D, 300D, have smaller CMOS sensor compare to a 1D or a 35mm so you have to muiltiply those lens by 1.6X. Meaning 17mm x 1.6 = 27mm. or 300mm x 1.6 = 480mm. You get a combination of pros and cons.

Damn... that looks AWESOME!!! I wish the Acura design engineers could have taken a cue from your body kit and grill for the restyling on the '06. Excellent shots BTW, nice detail and lighting!

Keep in mind that DSLR's, especially Canons, generally require some post processing in the form of sharpening on shots straight out of the camera, unlike most compacts which default to a high level of in camera sharpening. You can also tweak the cameras settings if you don't want to mess with PP as much.
Also, your lens shot wide open at longer focal lengths will render a fairly shallow depth of field, which can fool some folks into thinking the lens is not focusing properly. If you already know all this, just disregard.
Bottom line, your lens doesn't appear to be front or back focusing. It looks spot-on to me. Your pics look great, and so does your car. One of the sharper TSX's I've seen.
Try shooting in RAW. Gives you more latitude.
