Bye Bye Vtec, Hello turbo
#41
Congrats on the new car!
I hope Acura research folks read these forums and start to understand the #1 reason why buyers are opting for other brands - lack of power and power choices.
I came from an I-4 Accord with 140hp and the TSX was a major step up in power. I really don't need v-6 or turbo power for 95% of my daily driving (my logic side of my head). If the 04-08 TSX came with a v-6 or Turbo option, I would gone with more power (the emotional side because I'm thinking with both heads)!
The TSX is only 60hp and 100 lbs of tq away from outclassing every sports sedan under $35,000-$37,000 range.

Everyone going with turbo charged cars for the power... Honda/Acura does wonders with 4 cylinder engines. If you can find an N/A 200hp+ 4 cylinder other than a honda/acura make please let me know. Without turbo these "other" brands wouldnt amount to anything. You get alot from Acura/Honda and reliability! Saab just never was appealing to the eye for me. To each their own. Good luck with the car but if you wanted turbo why that choice?? Why not a GLI, GTI, A4?..Something more appealing. 18's or 19's on that thing is still ugly! Maybe even worse than stock!..haha

I used to love the old 900S Turbo ... such an ugly duckling look, but such power and assurance on the road. I presume the newer models at least continue some of that, or people wouldn't be buying them. Ditto, enjoy the new ride, it's surely putting a big grin on your face every time you turn it over.

Basically, a lot of hp/tq on an average car is the equalizer for a great car with lower hp/tq (v-6 accord or TSX debate that pops up every month)

It appears that the NAVI system resolves a lot of that button overgrowth.
It's this proliferation of buttons that I would be couldn't drive with (from the "pull over and squint at the buttons" School of Interface Design):
Compared to these the BMW and TSX center clusters are positively revolutionary. Or ... they aren't aimed at the "more money means more buttons" crowd.
