Bored in the SoFlo

So my friend and I got off work at 11pm and decided to do a lil' photoshoot praticing our camera skills. still got a lot of work ahead of us. but we were cut short because it started to rain really bad. typical florida weather. theres not that many pictures but these are the best I could find out of the bunch. Camera is a Canon Rebel XT. Any suggestions or tips on how to take better night photos.

If you're not using a tripod, get one. It's mandatory for night photography. Also, keep an eye on your compostions, they are a little loose in quite a few of the shots. I would also look for different backgrounds. The lights in some of the shots are completely blown out and it's very distracting and draws the eye away from the car. I would fill the frame with the car more myself, because that is the subject and what you want the viewer to focus on.

Keep practicing.

Im actually using a tripod. Yea I've been looking around my area. Most places have that ugly yellow lighting so it looks like crap. With the lights, I had to increase the exposure because with a regular shot, all you see is the light output and nothing of my car. I guess its harder anyways with a dark car. Thanks!
