Thumbs up Blue LED replacement for Doors/Dome

The door lights I replaced with a 6LED bulb and the dome with a 4LED bulb. I like it, the original dome light was a little to bright, few of my passengers I've seen uncomfortable when the doors opened or the car was turned off while sitting in the darkened environment.

I think it's subtle, and the blue reflections on the silver lines are sweet.
They further enhance Acura's blue theme.

www.superbrightleds.com

Quantity Product
3 3022-4 LED Festoon bulb Blue (Dome replacement)
2 T13-B6 Blue LED bulb (Door replacement)

That's what I ordered, easy to replace, I used a kitchen knife to pop of the light covers, that's all. Make sure that the led bulb is pointing downward in the dome light.

You should try 6led in the dome and 4 in the door, or if you want it nice an bright in the cabin just go with 6led for the dome light and 6led for the doors as well.

I will take some pics of the bulbs and post them.

I agree, I think the dome lights are too bright. I have it set to off because they blind me at night if I open the door.

Unfortunately, I don't think blue works with milano red / parchment. How about red for the door lights and white for the domes? Or just white for both...

Would the whites be dimmer than the stock bulbs?

CAPS,

So you have 4 LEDS in both the dome and doors now and you're saying that 6 LEDS might be better for the dome and doors for a brighter effect?

I think the way you have it looks perfect from the pics. Very cool. That's definitely a low cost mod that I'll be making.

Thanks,

Scott

The domes are 4leds the doors are 6 leds. His set up is just like mine.

I don't belive you can buy a 6 led for the domes.

PepBoys won't have them. Circut City only carries a 1LED replacement for the doors, and no festoon style bulbs for the domes. When I was looking for them initially I could only find them on line. www.superbrightleds.com was the cheapest place to get them. It only took 3 business days to get them, which isn't too bad for an internet purchase.

wow those are really bright. are they that bright in real life? cause im liking that. ive had blue ones i got from pep boys, but those dulled and were more of a turquoise color, and now ive changed them again to a hyper white bulb (all domes and doors). but ive just installed underdash neons (blue) and i like those youve put in. nice job

The side doors are brights. they look great. the dome lights are not bright, just enought to see but not enough to read.

I'm thinking maybe just go with changing the door lights to blue and leaving the dome white. I don't want it too bright from the dome but would want to be able to still use the dome lights effectively for reading, finding stuff at night, etc.. Does the just blue in the door/white dome combo look good? Any other bulbs(color/bright wise) to consider for the dome or is the stock domelight fine?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott, when you get your TSX make your own judgement on what looks good. When I first posted the thread on my Mod some people were not too reseptive. But I liked it so I kept it.

BTW, the stock domes are too yellow for me.

Thanks ortiz,

Yeah, I guess I'll have to wait and see in person. The blue bulbs definitely look cool. Maybe I can find a whiter/different kelvin bulb(10Kish?) for my dome that will blend well with the higher kelvin blues in the doors and still be good for night time viewing.

I agree a brighter white bulb will look good for the domes. But I still prefer my blue leds. ;D

Dang, burned out that fast? Let me know what you pick? I'm into nano reefs and like the color of 10K bulbs on my tanks. Very bright white with a tint of blue to it IMO. Of course these are MH bulbs shining through water so I don't know if they would look the same through the dome plastic and being a different type of bulb.

If you have Navi then you don't need bright lights and can get the blue festoon 4leds. But if you don't have Navi then you will probably need a map light at some point and should get bright white lights.

Depends on what you want. If your asking for sizes the Door lights are a 194 with 3.8W. the Domes are 3022Festoon bulb with 8w (the shorter festoon bulb). The glove box and cubby lights are 74 bulb with 3.8w. The vanity mirror lights are dealer only!

If your asking what looks cool then I say go with blue 6LED 194 blubs in the doors for sure. The Domes go with 3022-4led festoon bulb if you have navi, 3021Led2-Super bright LED light bulbs if you don't have navi.

interior is clean. I added blue neon lights on the floor board of my TSX they light up with the parking light. They don't bother me while I drive but look very cool. I also added the SNhond03 adapter to my car along with my Ipod. Aside from that I wouldn't change anything else on the interior.
