ARC Spark Cover

howdy folks.

been buying a bunch of parts lately and lots of them are coming in now.
lots more to come in the near future too.
I'm not into posting too many pics of parts that are common or are
seen alot, but this one is pretty rare.

ARC offers two spark plug covers for the K-Series engines.
one is stainless steel and has a gradient logo engraved in.
the other is titanium and has their italian flag logo plate riveted on.

I happen to not like ARC's italian flag theme.
doesn't seem to flow well with JDM color schemes if you ask me.
so if I ever buy any ARC stuff, it'll be what they offer that doesn't
tout the Red White and Green.

anyway, their stainless spark plug cover has no italian flag, so I figured I'd
give it a shot and see if I like it or not. at a price of $170ish though, man
it's just probably not worth it.

here are some pics:

no installed pics right now.
I don't like how it looks installed. I would need a powdercoated valve
cover for it to look nice at all. It looks kinda like crap on the OEM one.
blends in and looks small.
however the fitment is perfect, gotta give em credit there.

my recommendation is to pass on this part and go with something
like Mugen instead. this part is rare and JDM and all, but there are nicer
spark plug covers on the market.

yup, no problem.

I think it would look good as a finishing touch on a completed engine
bay that has like colors in it.
but other than that specific case, it's not a very good stand alone part.

i actually have the stainless steel one. i just never got around to installing it. i thought it looked a little more classy than the italian flag titanium. plus, the titanium has some text underneath that sounds like jibberish lost in translation.

i wish they made the gradient titanium for our k-series. then it'd kinda go with the ARC shift knob i just got from a member.

i'm taking a few days off in december. i think i'll try to make one of those days an 'install' day. i have the spark plug cover, voltage stabilizer, some LEDs, etc... that all need to get put in.

Thanks for the pics and taking the plunge. Looks pretty sweet and beautifully made.

How long did you have to wait and where did you order it from?

If you decide you aren't keeping it I might want it.

it was ordered from inline 4.
it took about 2 weeks to arrive.
it cost about $170something or so.

I'll keep it, but it won't be on the engine often.
Mugen ftw.

That rainbow gradient plate looks removable. if you want i could have my buddy who does CF work make a 'plate' to replace whats there now. it might match the rest of the stuff you have under the hood. that make you like it a bit more since i know thats how you roll. just a though...

I actually don't mind the gradient so much.
it's just the overall piece that's lacking really.
on a finished engine bay it will probably look pretty tight.
but I'll wait till mine is far more ahead until it goes back on.

Id rock the fake mugen before id sport that one, I guess its because i worked at a fab shop and that thing is probably about $2 worth of materials and about 30 mins of fab time.

Just looks cheap to me.

Nice quality photos! It is a very creative way to achieve the gradient by placing the piece behind the carving.

I dont think it's rare at all. It's still available to purchase. I got mines in Jan. this year for only $100. it's just not a common piece. I'm happy with it.

Always wanted the ARC spark plug cover to compliment my ARC induction box in my RSX but I was having a hard time to justify spending that kind of money. But then again I spent a lot for the induction box. Anyways, nice piece. Thumbs up!

i think it would look better if it was painted blk. someone should photoshop it blk with the original backgorund and leave the studs silver. just an idea.

damn I had only seen the one with the flag and yeah I hated that one. Though I have to say I didnt really look that hard for another one. I wish they would make a replacement radiator cover like they do for the s2k for our car.
