15,000 Miles is too long...

to wait to change this thing....

I know the manual says 15,000 is when you should change it...but by the looks of this thing, it could of been changed at 10,000 for sure.

I just used a paper towel to provide contrast, because that is the color of the new filter.

I've noticed the last month or so, that air in my car doesn't seem as fresh, and really when you think about it, this picture really shows what a good job our filters do filtering out the junk. I am defenitly changing this filter ever 10,000 from now on.

Should this be in the photo gallery? I'd change it too, that's nasty!

Mine looked similarly bad when I changed it. Thereafter I resolved to change the cabin filter every 10Kmi.

Just inspect it first, its really easy to get to (there is a thread on it) takes all of 2 minutes. A lot depends on the type of environment you live/drive in.

I will be changing mine every 10,000 Miles from now on.... after seeing what a 15,000 mile dirty filter looks like.

For what it's worth, I'm in Minnesota (Twin Cities) and compared to other cities it's really not that big. For guys living in LA/NY etc, I'd think your filters would look even worse after 15k.

It depends on whether you use fresh air or recirculate on your climate control. If you use recirculate only, then it'll be only light gray even after 2 years.

Remember to vaccum/wipe the filter housing first before installing the new filter. There's some nasty stuff in there that did not get trapped in the filter.
