04 CGP with a mod or two (56k go back to the gazebo)

I thought it was high time I posted a pics thread. In the last month I've added Tein SS Coilovers and the OEM bodykit. Today it was 70 degrees and sunny in CT, and it was an absolutely gorgeous evening to clean the car up.

Below are the results of my remedial skills with my roommate's point-n-shoot Canon SD750. The location's not the best, I know - but I didn't have any better ideas at the time and this place was close by. I'm open to critique (I already know I should lose the flash next time - DOH!)

I should note that the car sits at a tight 1 finger gap up front, with a finger and a half or so gap in the back; these are the default Tein SS settings. In some pictures the gap appears exaggerated due to the uneven ground. Picture 3 is representative of my car's ride height. I'm considering lowering the back about 1/4" more, but don't plan to toy with the front - the roads around here blow, and what I've got now looks good while being daily drivable. I'd love to totally slam it, but CT don't play that.

I welcome any comments or suggestions for the car.

Clean and simple... looks great!

Pics are decent, I like 7 and 14 the best. A different location with a more appealing backdrop would of made all the difference.

Nicely done. I have the same tires on right now. One question....do you have JDM headlights, or do you just have lamin-x covers on the side markers?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Those are 04/05 JDM headlights.

I plan to lower the back a bit in the near future, and may toy with dropping the front a little more too.

inkedup, I'm definitely going to be scouting for better local locations than a donut shop parking lot, haha.

As for thinking it was Tsx536's ride, I can't blame you there - seeing his Advans, along with DAYTA's in person, was what inspired me to go with these rims once my first choice (Wedssport SA-70 in gunmetal) was discontinued. Props to Kenny!

Looks great

I've been thinking about the OEM kit on my '04. Was there a noticable difference in the paint for you?

It's a nearly exact match. Obviously since my car's four years old, my paint's not as fresh as that of the kit, but to the naked eye it's seamless.

nice. I like what you've done to your front grill. Did you paint it yourself?

Nope, had a bodyshop do it for me for around $100 when I was having some other work done last May. The lower chrome piece is holding up well but the hood trim is chipping, so I'm probably going to replace it with the JDM hoodtrim.

Car's looking beautiful as always. Also, thanks for the shoutout . Kinda strange, though - your car looks much lower in person than it does in your pics.

Seeing your car with the kit really makes me want to get the Euro-R kit, but I just can't do it (damned sloped garage entrances ).

We definitely gotta do our themed photoshoot sometime soon...

You know, that was the first thing I noticed too. My car definitely looks lower in person. I think it's the angles. When you and I look at the car, we're standing up at 6'+. My pics are from a crouching/lying position which will accentuate the wheelgap.

If it wasn't for our parking garage I would probably lower the front some more. As it is, I'm just glad I can make it in and out without scraping.

Pick a location and I'll borrow my roommate's camera again. Let's put our heads together and find a good place.

I can't say I like the look

Looking good man! I really like what you did with the OEM grill. You have me thinking about doing that now! Thanks for the props. You have a lot of stuff that makes your car unique from mine though. I especially like what you did with the engine bay. Keep up the moddin

Here's my favorite pic:

Thanks Kenny! I'd like #3 a lot more if the dumpster wasn't there. :-P Haha... as for the grill, I highly recommend it - it definitely changes the look of the car, for less than the cost of a Mugen grill, and still looks stock and subtle. My only recommendation though would be to buy a JDM hoodtrim and have the lower chrome "V" painted. That is my OEM chrome hoodtrim and the paint is chipping off it pretty quickly. I'm replacing it with a JDM hoodtrim pretty soon!
