yet another brake question

If I am correct, the dimensions of the front rotors (stock) are 300mm x 28mm
rear are 260mm x 9mm

With that being true, as long as I find a rotor in the same dimension, with a 5x114.3 bolt setup, a rotor should be interchangeable, correct? Or is there more to replacement rotors?

I ask this on my quest of still obtaining different replacement rotors. I have found rear rotors of the same dimensions from an EK9 (rear) and same front as a CL1, and RA6 thru 9 (whatever type car that is).

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're going to get replacement rotors, why not just get better, aftermarket rotors?

And theoretically speaking if the brakes are the exact same dimensions, then yes, they should be interchangeable. Just to be sure, check the part numbers to see if they match.

You should also check the dimension of the depth of the "hat" (or the hub). If they're not the same, you may run into problem with the rotor interfering with the caliper.

Just out of curiosity, how would I find dimensions of the hat? What numbers would I be looking for... just an example if you can think of one.

I researched a bit more for the CL1 rotors, and several japanese companies sell rotors for the CL1 having the same part number for the CL7. From my understanding, the brakes from the CL7 and CL9 are the same.

I don't believe any rotor manufacturer will list this dimension. You'll have to measure it (or bug the vendor until they measure it for you). It is the distance between the "disk" face and the "hub" face.

OK, CL1 and CL7 are the same (CL7/8/9 also same)

Next question, which google has given no help for. Does anyone know where to find part numbers for Honda Japan OEM equipment. Specifically EK9R rear rotors?

Just get a set of brembos or even the powerslots. I use the powerslots on my 4runner currently and they work pretty well. Really good quality rotor. Haven't used brembos before but have heard nothing but good from them.

When it comes to the replacements for the TSX, any rotor that will fit the RSX-S will fit our car. Same components (just different mounting point for the calipers). For instance the Spoon rotors will fit (though the part for the RSX is the S2K rotor...same fitment too). Stoptechs are okay, they're just pricy for what you get. That's what we used on the DAL Motorsports grand am cup NSX.

Just my humble opinion, you're wasting the money trying to find JDM rotors. Brembo blanks or some OEM replacements are good enough.

Brembo blanks

As far as other replacements, I agree. I just want to keep all my parts running with the same companies, rather than mix-matching so much. Since I'm going with Project Mu lines and pads, I am gonna get their replacement slotted rotor as well. Spoon is another brand I have several pieces of, so will get their caliper.
Sounds weird, but I enjoy finding new parts and "wasting the money" redoing things on my car.

What about the slotted/cross-drilled rotors?

Slotted/ cross drilled is different. I don't know what the specific company is that makes the blanks for Brembo, but it's one in the same as the OEM rotors (blanks), which are easy to warp.
Brembo is one of a few companies that puts R&D into new kits which consist of drilled or slotted rotors, StopTech being another.
StopTech offers a great BBK for the TSX. Expensive, but good.

I don't think Stoptech is that much expensive when compared to Spoon calipers. I'm actually thinking about replacing my brake setup upfront, too. Right now i'm leaning towards the Stoptech for its value. Looking at Brembo it's just flat out too pricey. Rotara, haven't heard anything good/bad about them.

CMF, last time I checked the Spoon's runs around 1500 for just the front set calipers. Are you getting a better price or sth? Cause for $200 you can get a complete set from Stoptech.

I have installed a set of Brembo blanks for someone as the originals were shot. The Brembos were much heavier than the OEM rotors. He got them from Tirerack.

Not sure if this is important, but the Spoon rotors are just over 3 lbs lighter than the stockers (and this was when the stockers had some life on them). I had them on the RSX. I loved them.
