What RPMs for a perfect launch?
#2
I think you're expecting a simple (one RPM) answer for a complicated question. Everything depends on how you release your clutch pedal. If you're just gonna drop it, then yes 3500 is too high. All you'll get is wheelspin with no VSA.
Either try a lower RPM, or let your clutch pedal out more slowly. I've gotten good results by revving to 3500 and not dropping the clutch. Experiment and see what works for you

not dropping the clutch as in, still releasing it quickly but just not dropping it right? i guess i was asking about dropping the clutch completely but i'll try to progressively drop it. so if you were trying to get off the line as fast as possible, what would you do?

At the auto-x, I launched with the VSA on in my 1st run just to get a feel for it. I launched at 3500 rpm, got a little wheel spin. Then as the VSA picked up the wheel spin, the car bogged. On my 2nd and last runs, I launched at 3000-3500 rpm with the VSA off. I didn't just dump the clutch, but there was quite a bit of wheel spin. IMO, I think launching at any rpm higher than 2500 with the crappy Michelins is useless. I would think the first thing is to change the damn tires. Funny that with the 3 Hondas I have (or had), the first thing I complained about was the crappy tires from the factory.
