What is a resonator?
I searched the boards but couldn't find a solid answer to what a resonator does and what purpose it serves. I know its a basic question, but I figured I had to ask. Thanks in advance

It is a big black plastic box with piping in it to change the sound of the intake system. It's pretty restrictive to airflow so that's why it is removed as a part of an aftermarket intake installation.
