Weapon R before/after dyno

Hi all,

So I finally received my Weapon R racing header (Thanks to Marcus from Heeltoe for all his hard work), and have been able to run a before and after dyno.
My car:
2005 Acura TSX 6 speed Manual

Mods on base run:
Air intake resonator box removed (stock paper filter)
Non-Stop tuning pulleys (again thanks Marcus!)

Mods after base run:
Weapon R race header
Weapon R test pipe
Ebay "L" shaped defouler
Of course I still have the pulleys and removed resonator box.

After I installed the header, you could hear the grizzly/raspiness sound you always get with a header and test pipe. The engine seemed to pull very strong and and VTEC went from just an obnoxious noise, to actual performance! My car actually behaved like a B18c after VTEC, before it would just fall away....you all know the feeling. Anyway, not trusting my butt dyno, I ran to make sure I was feeling something and not just hearing it....sure enough, an actual nice gain!
See my before and after plot:

+20 whp gain
+20 wtq gain
Plus it's pretty fat in the middle, especially for not having Hondata yet.

The header is the actual header on Heeltoe. The quality was great except a few things, one, they seemed to weld on an addition or something and the welds are not nearly a beautiful as the other welds, also the hanger on the header is ass backwards....something a torch and a piece of pipe can easily fix...but still.
See installed pics:

Hanger, um you're facing the wrong way!

Slight bottle neck going from 2.5" to stock...

Good points....NO rattles, NO banging, NO leaks, NO real problem hooking it up, tons of power, nice and shiny.

Bad points....very hard to get the first O2 sensor in (an extender should be sold with this header...take note Marcus. The header had the hanger facing the wrong way...duh! The step from the 2.5" test pipe to the stock exhaust is killing about 3-5 whp (opinion).

That's all, thanks

The sound out back is the same as stock, I have the stock exhaust. There is a grizzily, don't know how to explain it, sound coming from the test pipe...which you get with every test pipe...unless it's resonated.
You're gonna get more sound from an aftermarket header, aftermarket cat and aftermarket test pipe, the metal is much thinner and you loose all the heat shields which block the noise as well.

Great results! The car must pull very nicely now! 20 whp is a lot for bolt on parts. I actually saw your header in person when I was over at HeelToe one day. Nice piece.

The backwards hanger thing is actually pretty bad. You should let Weapon R know about this!

not bad. I'm hoping k-pro is one of your next mods as I could see some gains could definitely be had (mid-range torque mostly). I'm also wondering what your af ratio is like

I remember my Mugen exhaust was the same way when I got it.

those are some really good gains now it's time for KPro!

except for hanger, the fit and finish is really nice too! .. and i can see you had to re-route the upstream O2 w/ a cable-tie

i'm hoping i get close to your hp/tq gains with my CT header, FLP cat, NST pulleys and Tanabes, although i very much doubt it

Only CEL I get is P0139 which is "slow to respond second O2 sensor" I believe it's because I tore up the stock O2 sensor taking it out, so I replaced it with an off the shelf O2 sensor that I wired up.

I need to buy a stock O2 sensor replacement but it's like $240!

Ask Heeltoe he said the sensors they carry might work.

he mentioned it to me awhile back and said that other hondas use it then forking 240 bucks.

I recently purchased a weapon R manifold and I went to the mech today to fit the headers today and coudnt get it to fit, it was hitting the subframe (well almost 1 or 2mm) where it leads to the test pipe and the top nuts werent even tighten yet.

Issit meant to be that close?

Thanks

could this be a manufacturing fault or is there a special technique to install?
