Turbo
Thanks for your reply. i have done some research and I did find a supercharger that you could bolt on, though its not as powerful as a comptech supercharger. Those sc's go for 4 grand. Too expensive for me. Thats why I have been looking up some setups for Turbo's found a couple off ebay, but i was thinking maybe some other tsx dudes will have knowledge on turbo setups and if so then bring on the ideas
Thanks again

Ok ill take the advice, though about the kpro for tuning what is that exactly and where can I buy one ? Also any views on master turbo, which ill get for free through cs.com ? Thanks guys
The TSX's K24 is similar to the Honda Accord's K24, and there are tons of setups for that. I know GReddy makes a kit, and I've seen people take kits for other cars (RSX) and modify it to fit their engines.

Are you going to be doing the install?
it seems to me like you still dont know what you want.
If you have to ask this many questions about turbo "kits" then I dont think you're quite ready to tackle this project.

The thing is I know about the turbo kits and how they work, but i wouldnt want to buy a rsx turbo kit and modify it because its prob not meant for the tsx ya know. Thats my opinion. Thats why im researching a good universal kit, which comes with the parts I need to install in my car. I have been craving a turbo since I got my car which was a year ago

a simple search yielded this result. I suggest you do more reading, calling around shops. Get to know your motor.
IIRC, the RSX is a k-series motor. the TSX is k-series motor. grab a kit from the RSX and modify it for your tsx.
Also, if you only have a grand to spend. I suggest you forgo this project. You're easily going to spend 4-5k.
Again, I'll quote G.I. Joe.

you need to do lots of homework.

Huh? Can't you simply go to their shop or whatever and get free stuff? Even if its just a turbo charger? I be they can make a kit. I'm not sure I buy this whole sponsorship thing.....
He needs to understand that there isnt going to be a universal kit.
that he is going to spend 3-4 maybe even 4-5k when its all said and done.
then after slapping on the turbo, its not going to be reliable. He's going to be constantly tuning constantly inside his engine bay.
Again, Are you going to get a mechanic to install or are you doing it?

I would be getting a mechanic to install it. I do understand there are no kits available for my car. Im no idiot, but I would like to turbo the damn car rather then super charge it, which would cost me about 4 to 5 grand which is way too much money. I want to spend a decent amount, and I know with quality there comes a price
quality does come with a price.
but you're not willing to spend 4-5k?
the tsx and rsx basically have the same engine. k series motors. your best bet would be to get one of these kits and do a custom fab.
It still doesnt seem like you know what you're talking about. Read up on it some more.

Hey I dont know everything, which is why I ask questions to further knowledge my self and id rather ask people who know whats going on and who have already been there done that. I have knowledge on my car, not a whole lot, but Im getting there people. I know that the rsx and tsx have the same engine, so yea thats prob the best bet to get a rsx turbo and mod it to my car. Currently researching rsx turbos but am unsure of which one to get. Any particular brands that dont cause any trouble after installation. Any ideas ?
Thanks
Thanks
This is why I'm asking you to educate yourself.
Not a lot of people on this forum have turbocharged their TSX. you won't get what you are looking for from here.
Check this thread out.

it has videos of a turbo tsx on a dyno.
you're going to spend a lot of money getting to 512whp.
Here is the thread that I linked earlier.

Here is a supercharged TSX making 265whp at 8psi

make a trip over to www.t s x c l u b.com if you want some hands on info on turboing your car. Everything that has been said in this thread is correct but if you want to talk to someone about it, they have a few guys that have turbo'd and are making some power.
Nope. I love my turbo accord...

I spent about 5K on my set-up when it was all said and done, but it's well worth it. Motivated me not to buy a new car. I know a LOT more about my car now than I did a year ago, and I am getting close to 300whp to the wheels on 8PSI with no mechanical issues. My car is a 2004 and I am using my stock motor.
What you need to do is get in touch with a guy named "Cham" on Honda-Tech and .net. He makes a custom harness for accords to use the RSX ecu and KPro. Not sure if it will work with the TSX multiplex, but it might. Just ask Cham the man!

it seems he doesnt no a lot about turbos in general other then they make you go faster. a 2005 tsx motor is a k24a2 and a rsx-s is a k20a2. the tsx is a 2.4 liter while the rsx is 2.0. the reason the rsx can rev so high is the intake manifold has shorter runners and better head work then the tsx. a turbo kit for the rsx-s would work will a little modification to it. i wouldnt buy a uni kit or one of ebay ever. and you obv dont no the kind of tuning you need. since they dont make a bolt on kit for the tsx youll need a lot and depending on how much power you gonna try to get you may need new internals. ive seen a 350hp tsx on stock internals but at that point id upgrade. look around because i know hks did a turbo kit for the tsx but they didnt market it because at that time there wasnt a big enough fan base to start it and i think it made 270+ on 8psi i think. but you need to read how turbos work and whats need to make it work. i.e turbo piping mainfold wastegate ecu bigger fuel injectors etc many variables.
Just my opinion ..
From someone who has done close to two years of research of dropping a turbo in a '05 TSX let me tell you the term "dropping a turbo" is a loose term. The ECU will cost around 2k OR you can look into a duel ECU settup. Saw it on a show never heard anything else about it. SURE you can buy a turbo for around $1500. BUT with everything else you need to support the turbo? Thats where the other 4K comes in. If you want 300whp or more you need to rebuild the engine. [more or less] and so much more. From my research the biggest problem is the ECU because without a computer telling the car what to do with this extra power and air, the car isn't going very far. Custom turbo kits are possible but labour will cost you large. Key word is CUSTOM Done properly your looking at $5000-$7000 for custom work. Then you run into the problem of finding a shop you can trust to basically dismantle your car's insides. In my opinion, sell the TSX and buy an '04 -'05 BMW M3 and you will have more power stock in that car then a TSX with 10Gs dropped into it.

Just my opinion and experience.

Good information everyone. I have learned some good details from you guys. your right about having a turbo in the car which wont do as much if you do not change parts to support the turbo, then you can have some serious trouble. Thanks again guys, I think the only thing Im doing next is getting the ecu reflashed from hondata, and installing a track pipe to replace the CAT
