The stock 2006 & newer TSX exhaust is very free flowing plus the engine is only 2.4L. A test pipe plus a cat back exhaust will add very little power.
It will just look good & sound more agressive depending on which exhaust you choose.

One thing to note that if you have never owned a car without a cat on it, you will not like the fumes & smell.
Especially if you live in a house with a front drive garage.

I would leave the stock cat as a test pipe won't really gain anything anyway.

Spend some time researching exhaust mods before buying anything...

haha thank U for replying, i did do a lot of research, some ppl claim butt dyno gains and some dont. I dont see how going from some restriction with a cat, to no restriction with a test pipe wont add any gains. also going to 2.50 inches wont do anything at all? and yes i remember when i had an evo
rip ( sold) with a test pipe it stunk so bad whenever i was at idle, i wish i would get gains on my tsx with an exahaust like i did with my evo haha. that being said i bought a test pipe from heeltoe claiming dyno results of 11 WHP at 6k rpms, and also went the cheap route with the tsudo cat back, i guess we will see how it goes, i hope i feel some gains, thanks again for the response, feel free to debate with me!!

a test pipe will make power, I have never not had gains on any car were I did it. I have one now as well.

I will second the stock exhaust is pretty good, the collector at the back of the car is the only real problem.

A test pipe will not gain much if any power over a good high flow cat. A high flow cat won't have the bad smell problem of a test pipe. Here's the dyno of a test pipe and a 200 cell cat.

very informative, I appreciate that. So minimal gains over a HFC, but what about over a stock car 06+ ? also did you have any supporting mods when you did that dyno run? thanks again

I don't have any direct comparison to the stock 06+ but here's another dyno to compare the same 200 cell cat with a 300 cell cat on the same car. Since the 300 cell cat flows better than the 06+ cat, you can draw your own conclusion on the approx gains. I also have the DC header and K&N CAI in addition to the cat and catback during the dyno test.
