swapping ecu?
I have come across an opportunity to swap my stock 6MT Cdn. ECU for a 6MT Cdn Hondata ECU for a good price. I'm just wondering if there are any potential problems that could emerge when changing the ecu entirely? Also, is there a way to verify that an ECU has hondata already? I'm just thinking that I may be psyched about the reflash, expect all these changes, but it could be all in my head..thanks for any help u guys can give me.

bump. Nobody has experience swapping an ecu into their car from another car? Someone who put their reflashed ecu for sale/trade for a stock one? Both cars are 06 6MT if that makes it clearer..any recommendations/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, you can't just swap the ECU. You need to have the keys and imobolizer and junk like that programed to match the ECU for it to work. Since I've never done it, I could be wrong. Hopefully someone who has done it can enlighten us both.

shoot i'm sorry. I was already aware of that part, I just didn't post. I'm having the swap done at an acura dealership. I'll have them program all my keys and immobilizer to the new ecu..I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced any issues relating to swapping reflashed ecus or any ecus in general.
