Some questions about Hawk HP+?
Some questions about Hawk HP+?
Hi Guys!
I know that many of you drive with Hawk pads most of you with HPS?
I order to me HP+ becuse i drive on track 6-8 times in one year so i need much better brakes then OEM.
So i wonder how many of you drive with HP+ and did you drive with OEM rotors and is it nasessery to change the rotors to better one? Can i use them daily on street withuot any problems in the braking becuse they need some temperture before they working to 100%???? HPS are they good enough to use on track???
I really hope that somebody can answear om my qustions?! I'm really sorry for my bad english and i hope that you know what i mean?

Don't use HPS on the track if you're an aggressive driver. They won't hold up at track temperatures. They will definitely fade rather quickly. I've taken my TSX to several tracks here in California, and I only have HPS pads on all 4 corners. They started to fade like the 3rd lap into the session.
HP+ is much better than HPS on the track. I haven't used HP+ in my TSX before, but I've used them in my Prelude. My Prelude is about 2800 lbs, so roughly 400 lbs lighter than the TSX. The HP+ pads held up almost the entire 20-minute run session. At the last few laps of the session, I experienced a little of brake fade. Depends on driver's preference, HP+ should be good enough for most tracks. They would be fine for street use too. When my Prelude was my daily commuter car, I used HP+ on the streets with no problem.
I personally prefer running Hawk Blue on the track. These are the true race pads. They held up extremely well, even in the 100+ degrees weather. There was no fading whatsoever. However, they may not be good for the streets since they require some heat. If not, they can chew up the rotors very very quickly.
