That Single Exhuast Question...

I was searching for pics of a TSX with a single exhuast setup. I found one over at the forum. They have a system to keep me from thread jacking their pictures from the server.

You guys can check it out here.
CL9

Does Noel belong to Acurazine? I think that Euro Accord is the most fixed up TSX I've seen yet. Huge parts list, everything straight from Japan. I'd love to see a dyno on that car.

he's got a euro spec accord. pretty clean. rims are too small imo, but it makes the car look 10x better than the stockers.

honda twincam exhaust. a nice jdm piece. wish there was some shops here in the us that could get japanese pieces like that.

nice work. and i dont think he is a part of this forum. maybe you should tell him that acurazine is a lot bigger than his.

btw noobs, if you want to see the pics, you have to enter tsx club (w/o the spaces) acurazine filters that out.

Small rims, volks, all Japan upgrades... mine ecu.... this guy is hard core to the bone for performance.

Maybe I'll just highjack the pictures and put it on my server....

You can't fix the link, since this forum won't let you talk about other "forums" :ghey: Acurazine is already the biggest, no point in worrying about other forums.

I'm sorry, that single exhaust just doesn't look right on the TSX. It looks a little slanted like the 5Zigen. However, if that's the look you after, then go for it.

You participated in that other thread where I explained it all. If you have more concerns, please PM me. If you choose not to and just criticize like that, you will run into trouble.

I'm debating whether or not I should get it... $710 shipped is $$$ for a single exhuast. Maybe I'll wait till get goes down to around mid $500s

That's crazy if you can't mention other forums on this site. Can you mention other forums that aren't specifically about the TSX, or does that get you a spanking too?

i thought you were waiting for suicide doors?

jk.

you can get the 5zigen fireball, it's a single can, and it loooks better imo. the feels one is prob going to be at least 1k USD if you can find anyone that can even get it.

i like dual exhuast better myself, but his car sure is nice.

Yes you can, as long as they are not forums competing with Acurazine's forums (TSX, TL, CL, RL)

But other Honda generalists like Honda-Tech, TOV, etc. are and have a wealth of information that can be useful to refer to even for our sake.

But for the competitors:

And no, we are not . We try to keep the site as performing as possible.
I think this policy is only reasonnable for the sake of our vendors and members as well.

Dual does look "nicer" but for performance I doubt it's practical, especially for a 4 banger. I don't really know much about exhuasts but for high performance dual exhuasts on Ferrari's and other 8cyl + cars doesn't each exhuast have 4 individual headers down to two individual cats? Not 8 headers merged into one cat back out to two exhuasts.

Eitherway, my friend was telling me to go to a good body shop and they'll be able to plug that hole for the second exhuast if I choose the single exhuast route.

My only concern is that it'll be too loud. My friends ITR has a Tanabe and it is so droning when driving it. (does a silencer work well and maintain the HP?)

Exhuast was probably around $1000 to get shipped out of Japan... Eitherway if they're going for performance (which the owner clearly is) it's a better way to go.

A person on my Integra Forum posted their dyno with and without the silencer. The result was that there was very minimal difference. So use a silencer if you can't stand the noise. I use a silencer on my muffler and its basically stock sounding. The only noise I hear is the hiss from my CAI. Hope this helps.

Was the dyno run w/ or without other mods.
When dyno testing, you should do each individual mod separately to see what gains you got from that specific mod. Not all aftermarket pieces match up well, you can actually lose HP by mixing and matching different mods.

It was with whatever setup he had on there, I'm guessing, but most likely your usual I/H/C/E modifications. And I'm assuming that he had the correct parts to make the setup flow correctly. I'm pretty sure he didn't mess the diameters of the pipes up...so with just the straight bolt on modifications, a silencer wouldn't make a huge difference as this guys dyno showed.

That's good to know. I'd figure I'll leave the silencer off when I'm on campus, and put it back on for those road trips. The droning noise just gets to me sometimes...

I totally hear ya man. If its just driving around campus and stuff then that's fine, but I drive 25-30 minutes a day to work and it can get somewhat annoying. Not bad, bad annoying, but its nice to not blast my music early in the morning Love these smilies, LOL
