RSX ECU/K-pro and throttle body swap

Would it be possible to ditch the VSA modulator, throttle body and ECU in the TSX in favor for the RSX-S throttle body, and ECU + Hondata K-Pro into the TSX? This would open up a world of possibilities in terms of modding.

Better yet couldn't you could use the throttle body from the I4 Accord K24 along with the ECU/K-pro from the RSX using the TSX basemap? I've been trying to research this ever since people started swaping the K24A2 into Civic Si's and RSX's.

Studying this image there seems to be a Yaw and G (VSA) sensor (number 11)

There is also the drive by wire unit and harness (illustration number 2, 3, and 4)

Interesting...

i wish i can help you out, but i'm new to the tsx community. but, i hope it's possible and it can be done with >$500.

let us know what you find.

or better yet, is there anyway to do all this without having to sacrifice vsa? i mean i usually turn it off when i want to have fun, but id like to keep it if at all possible..

I guess we just need someone to remove the DBW and stick on the throttle body from a K20 to see what happens. I'm pretty sure the VSA would freak out but who knows...

maybe, but there was someone here who installed LSD which might have freaked out VSA.. but never really knew if VSA still worked after the LSD was installed.. but then again, removing DBW is a whole different thing than adding LSD?

VSA works fine with LSD

Thanks, after studying the full dynamics of the VSA system, I feel compelled to keep it now... I guess I'll just wait until Hondata releases something specifically for the TSX.

.. vsa comes in handy at times... however waiting for hondata to release something like the k-pro doesnt look like it will happen.. soo i think we should hope a throttle body swap along with rsx ecu is possible while keeping vsa ...

Be ready to do a complete wiring harness swap as well....the pin outs on the ecu are different. I am tryin to get the skematics of the RSX S and the TSX wiring harnesses and ecu pin outs to make an adapter...we will see what we can come up with. Will take me a while though....

Let me help a little bit here. In the course of our experimentation we have done exactly this.

We used a RSX-S ECU and an Accord throttle body. Over half of the wires in the wiring harness needed to be moved for the ECU to work.

This is what you lose:
Speedo
Tacho
Fuel gauge
Coolant temperature
VSA
Cruise control
and probably air conditioning, but this was not tested.

What you gain:

Throttle response - by eliminating the drive by wire
Tunability for NA or for boost.

ABS is not affected.

You would need to add a RSX oxygen sensor for accurate air fuel ratio readings..

We will not be able to make the RSX ecu drive the instrument cluster. If you want to make a race car out of a TSX, then this is a good solution.

It's not possible to keep VSA without the TSX ECU, as the RSX ECU doesn't have the logic or circuitry for it.

Edit: I was thinking about DBW. I need to look at the manual to confirm...

There has got to be a way...to keep the speedo and tach....and we will lose our AC....fuck. Ok Hondata tell me you will have a reflash for the TSX that will be made for turbo?????
