Replacing Radiator Hoses...
So I'm looking through the Helm's because I'm replacing my radiator hoses tomorrow, and I see it says I have to use Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 (P/N OL9999001). And I quote, "Using a non-Honda coolant can result in corrosion causing the cooling system to malfunction or fail". Is that true!?!?
On a side note: This install is gonna be a bitch, anyone done it? Any suggestions?

if I recall I told you this install was going to be a bitch. I dont know if you need there stuff or not. However have fun drainging it all. I would think if you did it carefully you could drain it into a bucket and put it all back in.

I call BS on Honda. I do use their brake fluid and tranny fluid, but it is still an aluminum radiator. Current day radiator fluid passes the test.
EDIT:
Mix with distilled water and nothing else. I think that is Honda's concern b/c their stuff is premixed if I recall.

Is there any website that you know of that we can buy the coolant from? Can we get them from a honda dealer or does it has to be an acura dealer? I don't want to drive so far to an acura dealer just to replace my coolant .

*if Acura was that smart to create a brand to market their car as a luxury, i would've thought they would take the Honda coolant bottle, rewrap it w/ an ACURA logo and sell it for twice as much *

Well that lived up to its reputation, that was a bitch! But I think worth it when you look at the finished product...I ended up having to remove the entire radiator to get to the lower hose. Which was easier then I thought it would be, but still a bitch.
So heres the product... J's Racing Samco Sport radiator hoses:
Radiator removed:
Installed lower hose with radiator still missing:
Lower hose with radiator installed:
Upper hose installed:

Samco doesn't make them for our car You can only get them through J's.

very nice man. I may have to do them cause they look like they tie the whole engine bay together since it adds some color on the front there. gonna have to get me one of those cusco catch cans too. all in good time however there are some other mods I am going to do first.

Buying the Honda pre-mixed helps to reduce the problem.
I agree. Anyone who uses tap water to mix is definitely taking a huge risk, especially since destilled water is so cheap and easy to come by.
Definitely, buying the Honda stuff is probably less hassle in the end. I will since I have "contact" there and know I can get it for cost.
