Removing exhaust heat shield / carbing brace, exhaust install

Hey guys,

I'm trying to install my Skunk2 catback and my Carbing brace at the same time. My Carbing brace I bought used off of a member of the other forum and it didn't come with the L bolts, so I assumed I could just thread some thick washers from the underside and it should bolt up. When I fished around down there, it seems I'm hitting the heat shield above the mufflers. Is there any way to remove that?

Also, installing the Carbing brace has been a royal pain. The holes were about 1/4" off from where they needed to be, so I had to file them larger to get the brace to fit at all. After about an hour of filing and manhandling, I was able to bolt the brace in behind the seats, although fully tightened it's now about 4mm off on the drivers' side grommet hole (the bolt can still fit through, but not dead centre. Anyone else have terrible Carbing fitment issues?

BTW, if I remember my digital camera I'll take pictures of the exhaust install. My 17x8 / 235/45/17 Enkei RPF1 & Falken FK-452 combo goes on tomorrow as well
