Removing clips

I was wondering what to use to pop out the plastic clips that are recessed on the top black panel ontop of the grill. I used a screw driver when I would take off the bumber to switch between SRI and CAI, but now with the Mugen Grill on the don't want to come out. I broke two of them so far trying to get them out. The reason I have to take them out is I put my grill in before I had it painted so I could do all the cutting before I got it painted

Dumb question, but you are popping the centers up and then pulling the clips, right? The clips are 2 pieces and the centers pop up. I would alternate sides until the center popped up. If you use light pressure, you won't snap them. If you try to do it quickly, then you will snap them.
