Removing chrome hood trim - Help

I tried to find this by a search but no luck...

I removed the 4 bolts attaching the trim but there seems to be something holding the middle section in place. Has anyone remove this piece? Is there another bolt you can't see or is it some kind of tape?

thanks
-Jays

there is a little square clip slightly right of center that you have to push in on the side of with a screwdriver to get out. get a flashlight and look in the hole and see what side you have to push on

that would reduce the cars weight by ATLEAST a gram or two. thereby chopping about .0000000001 second off of 0-60 times. definately a good upgrade if you ask me.

LoL, don't hate on the carbon fiber hood. It's worth it for the look man and it will reduce the weight, but not by much. Mainly just for the looks.

i think they were talking about the tiny chrome piece not the whole hood hence the tone of sarcasm

jsanchez, would you mind if you could take a picture of the area once you take off the hood trim? I'm curious as to what it looks like underneath. Thanks.

removing the chrome piece will leave a big hole in your hood from what i can tell...i will be getting a carbon fiber hood eventually...ill do it one of these days. hey every weight savings i can get helps...plus ill get one with a cowl induction vent to help with gettin cooler air to my engine once i have it turboed....i noticed that with my integra i had one and it helped keep the engine bay temp a lil lower since the air was able to flow into the bay easier
