question about turbo kits..

hey everyone, i have a question i need help with. im currently browsing for a turbo kit right now and came across this website.

http://www.adventperformancellc.com/...8-p-47135.html

lets say, i wanted to boost my car with minimal internal upgrades, which kit on that web site would work the best? i understand ill need a k-pro and all the dyno tuning done once install is finished but im more concerned on blowing the motor later on due to the stock internals. how much whp do you think i'd be pushing on the stage 1 gt?

I wouldn't be trusting that site too much. For one thing, all the pictures they show are of an RSX even though they're labeled as being a TSX. I don't think any one has had time to develop a complete kit for the TSX yet because the K-Pro has only been available for a few weeks.

I've never been very involved in the FI world so I could be misguided but I've never heard of that company and the web page is pretty shitty. Given that and the fact they're trying to blatantly mislead their customers, I would be mighty apprehensive about giving that outfit a big fat pile of cash.

My advice, sit on it for six months and see what's available then from the companies known to be reputable.

i was planning on getting the whole set up done by this upcoming summer. i was also givin a quote from our local performance shop for all parts/install/tune/engine management and they said they could do it all for 10 g's but i dont know if it's really worth it since i dont know what the kits in the future would cost.

i was going to get the ct supercharger but for 4500 for a new s/c here, i dont think its worth it for the 50hp/30 lbs/tq. guess i'll just have to wait for a kit to come out.

I believe (someone help me if I'm wrong) the 50hp/30lbs are to the wheels. I read that off a well known vendor many of of use on this site. Once you apply some of the other basic bolt ons you would be close to the numbers you want to hit.

^magnut is right, SC ALONE gives that gain to the wheels. Throw in a few other things and u r up. Also, now that K-pro is out (or even without it) u can buy a pulley for 7 PSI of boost. Sure CT is a monopolist and $4200 is decent money for SC, but twin turbo kit for 350Z is $7500. If u want, u can get a custom turbo kit after u acquire K-PRO.

In any way, once u get beyond "common bolt-ons", u r looking to spend a big, juicy buck

Keep in mind that those are canadian prices at a canadian shop. Meaning that it will automatically be way more than what most of the people on this site are used to seeing/paying. I dont know if $10k is in fact too high around where the op is, but the fact that its in canada should be kept in mind.

403 I assume this is at Speedtech? You would have the first turbo tsx I know of anywhere close to home!?!?! Perhaps call AJR in vancouver and see what they quote you?

well most of the cost is coming from parts having to be shipped over here from various locations across the US as well as canada. since the canadian dollar is doing so bad, pricing on parts are really expensive.

actually red, i haven't really even seen or heard a s/c'd tsx in calgary. most of the tsx's i see are bone stock except for this red tsx with the raven kit, and cf hood + trunk. too bad that kit is so big the bumpers were cracked and it was riding at stock height lol /facepalm

Is that it? Just have to put a new pulley on? The kit isn't even on the car yet and I seem to have this itch that won't *scratch scratch* go away...
