Projector Washer Mod
Hi guys, I don't mean to bring up an old topic, so if it is I appoligize. But, I'm reading a lot about this "TSX projector waser mod." What exactly does it do and does anyone have a DIY write up for it? Thanks.

I've read it has something to do with modding the color and cut off line. Makes the cut off line bolder, and with a bluer tint from what I've read....I just don't know anything else about it.

They're talking about the same thing I am. A couple of them seem to know what it is, it's just that no one has posted pics of how to do it, or indepthly explained it.

Its explained pretty well in that thread. By adding a washer between the projector and the housing, you can remove the sharpness of the cutoff line and blur it. The effect is a larger cutoff area, which would be more blue than the stock sharp line.

I guess because Iv'e never taken my projector apart or really stuck my head back there I don't completely understand the nature of the mod. From what I understand it gives the light a "nicer" look, I just don't know how to do it.

Nah, you'd actually be removing the sharp focus of the lights in favor of a more blue-ish look around the cutoff areas for others to see, but making it look much worse to you. I'm sure you lose some output doing that too.

o ok thanks....so I guess you're making the lights "cooler" (bluer), at the expense of optimal visibility? So I guess it's a purely aesthetic mod.

That's not the only place Iv'e heard about it being done. I've seen other TSXers write about it online, that was just the first link I could find to it.

Dang, it's bad enough when people flash you when they theoretically are above the cutoff! I can't imagine the trouble if you make things brighter for people...
