Pics of my new shift knob....

I popped on a new shift knob from the Accord HFP kit, and while I did it for aesthetics, I have found that it has improved shift action in two ways. First, the shifter now clicks into gear with more authority, more like my S2000. And secondly, because I installed without the locknut, the unit is much shorter, and the throws are somewhat reduced as well.

All in all. well worh the $50.00 I spent, which I'll probably make back selling the stock one, so free mod!

How could a shift knob possibly do that?

If the knob is heavier it can smooth out the shift.

I doubt that it's heavy enough to do so. Also, that effect is lessened by the fact that it's so much shorter now.

It's a magical shift knob.

But seriously, I never would have believed it would make any difference in the feel, but the added weight seems to make the shifts click better into each gear.

As far as being crooked, it actually tightens up perfectly straight (which is pure luck), but I put a little more muscle into it to get to face me a little bit...always done that with all my shifters.....you could always make a small spacer for inside the threads to get it to face wherever you want while being tight.....

True, it's probably the same. Honda uses the same knob in different cars. The guy who was selling this one got it from an Accord HFP kit.

The stock TSX knob is the same as the 2002 S2000 knob except ours has red etching and the S2K was black............

Just installed the one from RSX-S (optional) knob....lighter compare to our oem one but "looks" bigger as you can see from LannyM's pic. Getting rid of that flang nut thing really helps and yes it does make that "Click" feel/noise when you shift.

This isn't the Ti, but the Ti would work perfectly as well. I got it off eBay, seller said it was from the Accord HFP kit. Cost was $50.00 + shipping. I sold my stock one for more.

Not hard at all, except you have to careful about the finish on the lock nut at the base of the knob. It's like a black chrome, and flakes off very easily. As careful as I was taking the old nut off, I did nick one edge of it. The new one came with a nut as well, but leaving it off allows the knob to sit lower on the shaft, and it tightened right up.
