p2r throttle body spacer - install tips
I just installed p2r's throttle body spacer on my 04 TSX. Us TSXers have to use the 06+ Civic Si TBS because p2r doesnt make one for the tsx. BUT, it fits perfect. Almost as if it were made for the TSX. Overall, the install took under 30 minutes.
Some tips for future installers:
Instead of using a wrench to get off the two long bolts, what I did was use a deep socket ratchet and it came off much quicker and easier. When using the wrench, the area is VERY tight and it takes many many turns to get the bolt out. So I would recommend using a deep socket, with an extension. And the only way to get the bolts off is to put the two nuts back to back, and then use either a deep socket ratchet, which is the easiest, or a wrench.
I would also recommend cover up the open intake manifold. It would save from things dropping in there. I DIDNT cover it up and learned the hard way - I was putting a socket on the ratchet, and fumbled it and it went right in.
Make sure the plastic plug is REALLY tight. Its hard to tighten it with your hand as the threads get closer to the end, so what I did was just use pliars to tighten it up as much as it could go.
There MIGHT be a need for a buddy on this one as well. After pushing the throttle body off of the two bolts, it doesnt want to go anywhere. There is no where to put it so it doesnt get in the way. So you might want a buddy to hold it away while to take off and put on the old/new bolts.
Other than that, the install is pretty straight forward. Just watch the DIY video over on the TL forum.
