Number of caliper pistons and brake feel
I was looking at BBK kits and started wondering about how the different piston configurations affect brake feel. Do you get a harder feel with more pistons in the caliper or are there other variables in play?

This is difficult to answer since I've always found that pedal feel came down to the type of brake fluid you use and whether or not you've got SS braided brake lanes. Also, when you're talking about big brake kits and pedal feel, you're throwing out another slew of variables where one of the largest factors is caliper stiffness.
When I went from stock brakes to a Stoptech BBK, the pedal feel improved significantly but this could be for a number of different reasons such as vastly stiffer calipers, SS braided brake lines, a fresh 4 wheel fluid change which I hadn't done in about 3 years, a fixed versus a sliding caliper, much "grippier" brake pads, increased brake torque from the oversized rotors, new calipers that didn't have 98,000 miles of stop-and-go use on them, etc. etc....
