NST installation...how tight?

Hi,

Called to book for installation of the NST pulleys and the person asked whether there was a guideline as to how much to tighten?

Would anyone know by any chance?

Cheers guys.

He didnt mention which one either. I suppose crank and alternator as well? I have no idea.

Thanks bluecarbonfiber, if you can let me know that would be awesome!

altenator pulley belt bolt is 81 ft lbs.. and the tensioner pulley bolt is 41 ft lbs.. <- you will need to loosen it up to take the belt off.. hope that all helps

I remember reading that the NST and UR pulleys, since they're made from aluminum which is a fairly soft metal, should actually be put on with less torque than the stock pulleys. I don't remember what I did when i installed my UR pulleys last summer. I think I reduced the torque by 5-10% of OEM-spec and it's been fine since then.

Nevermind... I found JTso's install guide for the UR pulleys and it states there that UR recommends 181 ft-lbs or so.

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-performance-parts-modifications-126/jtsos-ur-underdrive-pulleys-installation-666337/

It appears that JTso used his impact to get the alt and PS pulley bolts installed, so no real need to torque it 100% accurately.

hm when i went to get mine installed at pro concept (ryde, syd aus) they told me that the nst didnt lock like the original crank pulley (or something along those lines), so there was a warning of caution.
but after nearly 1.5yrs later and all seems good =D

lol enkay, i went to pro concept and they told me i should find out the torque required to tighten the pulleys. Josh mentioned he installed it on another cl9, i assume it was yours! :p
