I think your friend means METAL BUSHINGS. The hardware would be in here somewhere:

Most of the "shift kits" I have seen dont have much hardware with them. Those who have installed short shifters could tell you better.

The TSX shifting is mighty nice, especially considering a cable shifter. I'm not sure I'd mess with anything but the lever itself.

I thinik you mean bushings. What size is it? My company made 3.2 million bushings last year anywhere from 0.375"OD x 0.25" ID up to 10.75"OD x 0.500"W so I might have something that fits...

What bushings? There isn't any bushings to replace during the short shifter installation for the TSX. Your friend might be referring to the bushings on Civics. I used B&M metal bushings for my Civic's short shifter.

It either replaces:
004 54117-SDA-A01 RUBBER, FLOATING

or

004 54117-SDA-A01 RUBBER, FLOATING
and
006 54119-SDA-A01 COLLAR, BASE

It mounts the white plastic shift base more solidly to the floor, and takes out some of the softer feeling when shifting.

Already have them. They're great. We sold them to Chris at Club RSX a long time ago. I love how he calls them "Club RSX Shifter Bushings" as if he came up with them. Send an email to Jeramy at jdkindle@yahoo.com He should have a few sets laying around. I feel better having the money go in that direction instead of another supplier that sells a part that someone provided him.

so jurt, your saying you put them on the TSX already(the bushings)? haha I don't want to order it and find out they don't fit. I went ahead and ordered the neuspeed short shifter.

Once again, thanks everyone.

Does it doing anything special other than be JDM? The Neuspeed and Comptech seem to work very well, and in general they are incredibly simple.

Nothing too special, just Spoon....that's all. Couldn't imagine that their parts would be any harder to install than Comptech or Neuspeed. My .02..............

ive got a comptech short shifter from a dealer, it comes with the bushing inside it as a package, the instructions list it down as a tool in the pack. all its used for is to pop off the white plastic cap from the bottom of the shifter rod( improper term). it made it easy to remove the cap, then after the short shifter peice is installed, you use a rubber mallet to pop the white cap back on.

we're talking about a different set of metal bushings. these go inbetween the plastic shifter housing (that yellow thing) and the body. they make the housing more stiff, giving a sharper shifter feel.

Does your friend still sell these? Or is there another place I can go to get the bushings? Do the RS Bushings work on the TSX as well?

It'll be nice if you can post up pics and give some tips on the install. That'll help me a lot this winter since it'll be my first "mod" aside from my speakers.
