Long Term with the CAI
Long Term with the CAI
For you guys who have had your CAI and SRI for a while, how have your engines been doing. I went in to the dealer today and talked with my tech. about it and he said that he has seen a bunch of RSX's with something about their rings messed up? He said it was a result of the increased air which led to too low air/fuel mixture and overheating. What do you guys think?

the ECU can handle colder air. This isn't a forced induction system cramming air in, its a pipe with slightly less restriction and a colder source

stole this from another thread...
12. PERFORMANCE HINTS
1) Service every 50,000 -100,000 miles on street driven applications.
2) Service often in off-road or heavy dust conditions or when air filter reaches 18" of restrictions.
3) Let the dirt "build-up" work for you; it will not hurt the performance and actually help filter the air."
In otherwords, 6 mos/15,000 miles is still way too soon to clean it.
I've used K&N cone filters in 3 of my prior cars. All of the filters stayed relatively clean and I stuck to the above recommendations w/o any noticeable filtering or performance issues.
