Kenstyle front + OEM grill

May 2nd, according to Excelerate, Tanabe Coilovers should be available. Finally!

Anyways, I've been a long time fan of the Kenstyle front! I think the TSX should have been like that stock, lower + wider looking design like the RL.

Well 2 things prevent me from getting it

1) $$$$$$ but not really, I can get it but its just damn expensive.

2) Losing the OEM grill + Acura Emblem.

What kind of work do you guys think would be involved in such a project?

Would someone Photoshop for me the Kenstyle front with the OEM grill? I would be eternally grateful!

Ok that was :ghey: I was kidding but if someone has the Photoshop skills, I would really appreciate it

I am currently fiberglassing my OEM grill in to my Kenstyle front end. It's pretty simple. The grills are a tiny bit different but not different enough to make it impossible. I was gonna wait till I got it finished before I post pics. So far the grill has been cut out of the Kenstyle front end and sanded down to make it room for the OEM grill. Tomorrow I will start glassing the OEM grill in. Once the grill mount has been constructed then I have to paint it. I hope to have it complete for the May 6th Seattle ALkai shoot and car show the following weekend. Keep an eye on the Photo section for pics. It looks good so far.

Nice! I knew you were on top of things!

Guess what CJams, My beloved TSX is at the detail shop as we speak because I have nasty swirls marks/clear coat scratches caused by another detail shop I went to.

Make note= Do NOT go to DEREK's Detail on North seattle on Aurora Ave. They F**ked up my perfect paint job I had. Not going to get it fixed there, they will probably make it worse!

Now its at Europa Auto Center by the waterfront in lake union. Luckily the swirl marks will be removed professionally. I chose Europa because they only work on Mercedes, BMW, and Audi's and they work with more expensive cars. When I pulled up, everyone was looking at me funny, the guy asked me, Is that a TL? I guess not too many people are familiar with the TSX yet?

Anyways I shall post pics tomorrow.

Here is where it's at now. I stripped most of the paint from the bumper then cut out the k-style grill. In this pic the OEM grill is just sitting there. It's not mounted to it yet. Hopefully I can start the glass work this morning.

I just put the OEM one back on it about 10 min ago. I took it off at about 9am, mounted it to the K-style bumper. Glassed it. It dried fast since the sun is out. Then I removed it from the k-style and put it back on my car. Now all I have to do is clean up the glass around the grill mount, reinforce it a bit, sand the bumper, prime it and paint it. But this time i'm gonna install a custom Venture Shield paint protection film to it. Not sure if anyone has PPF on k-style bumper yet? I might be the frist with the OEM grill and PPF on a k-style kit. Not sure?

But now it's lunch time! mmmmmm teriyaki chicken and gyoza......

that would mean I would need a shop with a big enough show room to park a car though.

The new glass is the part that doesn't have any silver paint on it. That's what the OEM grill mount looks like.

nothing like creating custom grill mounts. I really need to start working with fiberglass. maybe this summer I will build a new sound system if I have a 3 week break in going to shows at all.

Finally back, Europa Auto Center I highly recommend for Seattle TSXers that are looking for detail work! Since they work with High End Cars (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) They know their stuff. Happy to say all my clear coat scatches are gone and looks like when I first bought it fresh out of the parking lot from the Dealership!

Looks nice Cjams! Way to represent the WA TSXers! We dont get that much attention but we should. Anyways, finally back from the Detail shop. Wow, I am impressed. Those nasty clear coat scratches are all gone. Its been restored to how it looked like when I drove off the dealership at Hinshaws Acura. I highly recommend Europa Auto Center for Seattle TSXers anyway. Some pics

will it be possible to make the tabs, like what CJams is doing?
once he made the prototype, maybe he can start producing it, and make some profit from the Kenstyle wannabes...

No updates. Every time I go to work on it I am wearing nice clothes and don't feel like sanding fiberglass in them......okay....maybe i'm just lazy. I need to get on it! Let me try and get it primmed by the end of the week so you can see what it looks like as one solid color/un-bukkakied.
