The only thing I can think of is the AT has a lower idle rpm in drive than MT in neutral, which causes slightly more vibration.

Yes, swapping to DC I found the same to be true. But, with the Comptech header:

Since the vibration happens only when in D, and stopped, and on a warm engine with the revs down about 750, I believe this is true. If I put the car in N or increase the revs just slightly, it would go away.

I wish I had some science behind it but I don't. Just my experience suggests that the conditions under which the Comptech header causes the rattle would not be present on an MT, since they would have the clutch out.

*edit* Sorry, I don't mean to de-rail this thread away from ETD discussions and make it about headers, I just wanted to add an experience with the lower OEM dampner. Back on track now.

Jtso: Is the hardware included for part #14 or is it just the part alone?

If not what bolts were used for your install?

Part #14 is only the part not including the mounting bolts. You can order two #26 or get the bolts from your local hardware store.

Quick update on the redesign of the lower mounting bracket. I welded another bracket on the other side to provide additional support. Engine movement during launches is greatly reduced. The best part is no vibration even when AC is on due to softer settings on both ETD units. The subframe dynamic damper might also be a factor.

There is no current plan to sell the setup. However, Ingalls is in the process of making the ETD for the TSX. You should wait and see how well the Ingalls product works. Hopefully the design is more universal fitting than what I'm using.

If after trying the Ingalls kit (when available) and you want more, then try duplicate the under carriage setup.

well after having it for over a year I finally installed my JTso V2 ETD. Installed pictures and painted pictures to come soon along with a few other changes to my car.

The Edge on factory strut bar must be cut off so that it is flat for the tower mount bracket.

those are chromed, the radiator mounts, the battery tie down, and the bracket holding the two hoses by the front bottom right corner of the manifold cover. I am thinking of getting the brackets of the ETD chromed next.

Looking good. The shock tower bracket seems to be a tight fit.

Now you just need the black oil dipstick. Granted the orange matches the mugen socks, its just... wierd against the red and definitely not JDM.

The black dipstick is shorter than the orange one though. He'll have to swap the sticks with the plastic handle part.

Isn't it the valve cover that makes the black dip stick work? I have the stock valve cover, but the black dip stick. I thought that if you put the JDM valve cover on the black dipstick would work.

The oem TSX dipstick is phsycally longer than the black dipstick. Perhaps it has to be longer to reach the oil pan due to the taller k24 block.

Hey JTso,

How effective is the lower (subframe) v3 damper alone? Without the v2 damper?

I am tired of the vibrations and would like to move my damper under the engine. Is it worth it?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the top ETD does most of the work. Another alternative is try the one by Feel's.
