Black_6spd- Thanks man! I guess you can label me as a 'hard core' enthusiast.

Reach- Take a look at my thread on the HyTech stuff, as you can see in the pics there really isnt any resemblance to the comptech header... from the slip-joints of the primaries to the extended collector, its a beautiful piece.

The system i'm running right now is pretty loud because the mufflers and resonator have louvers inside, instead of a perforated core with steel wool and fibergalss. If you order one from John, he'll make it to your liking now that he has both types of mufflers and resonators available. I'll be getting another one from John, with perforated cores because I prefer a quiter car.

As far as purchasing the set-up for yourselves, you don't have to bring your car there unless you want to. You can buy it and John will build one using the jigs he made off of my car, then ship it to your door. Build time takes a couple of days, and the sooner you give him a deposit, the sooner he'll make one and ship it. I'm about 2 weeks away from getting the quieter catback.

The HyTech reflash can be had via the same method as the regular reflash

Yeah, we'll see. Ron's a really good friend of mine. It's still being worked on. I've been driving the Lotus Elise around, and am getting the serious bug to mod this car now. I actually instruct with www.unlimitedlaps.com, and I gave another instructor a ride, and he ended up going to buy the car soon after because he said that it impressed him.

I know Ron. He does a lot of testing before he releases something. I'm sure the product that he delivers will be top notch. Kpro or not, we'll see what happens or how he decides to make everything work. I'm as excited as you guys.

I'd rather wait and have it done right, than get it back 1/2 done. I have spare cars to use in the meantime.

If they get that to work in a manual I will then donate my 04 to get it to work in an auto.

Did you see the price on this RSX 05-06 version? If I give Hondata my ECU its ~$1100. If they supply the ECU its ~$1700. Pay to play I guess.

Yep. That's doesn't even include the price of dyno tuning! You'll get a few standard calibrations, but none of them will take full advantage of your specific car and setup compared to good ol' tuning.

I see a whole library of k-pro maps being cataloged on AZ in our future just like this one....

Its been two months, maybe you should take it to another shop as this is an absurd amount of time to have to wait. Cam's and a stand alone should not take more than two weeks to instal and tune. the install sides should take a day max

With any K-series cam setup, it's pretty much worthless w/o a race header. To date, we only have (2) in the Hytech and Toda. I believe the Toda isn't even a production header.

I wonder which header they will use for usurbrain's TSX?

Are you going for a street tune?

The fabricator for the header is moving shops, hasn't been able to get to the car. Still waiting. Yes, I want the car fully streetable because I will be driving clients around showing houses with it....

Is the project officially dead due to his business closing? That's bad news in the k-series world.
The last appreciable update is still the current status:

http://www.k20a.org/forum/showpost.p...4&postcount=18

However, it is with great consternation and regret that we will be closing the doors of IPS to the public. I will begin liquidation of any assets so that refunds may be issued and we may relieve the burden which is heavily resting upon our shoulders. I cannot give a date by when this will be completed.

I have just replied to an email from a father of one of our own upstanding community members here on K20A.org who demanded a refund. After doing so, I finally realized the futility in remaining operational despite being in the red month after month.

This is a paraphrased version of the email reply I'm referring to:

Those who are a part of the manifold’s product development cycle (pre-production orders) have been in the loop with any and all appreciable updates concerning its progress through means of public posts on K20A.org. I've had phone conversations with some of you as well as exchanged emails and/or pm’s here on K20A.org. For those who've requested refunds - bottom line is that if there were any monies available to refund, I would wholeheartedly attempt if it were economically feasible. Fact of the matter is that the total amount collected was not sufficient to cover tooling and R&D. We know that much time has passed and have missed anticipated delivery dates which have not been possible to keep due to a few critical reasons:

1. Tooling revision
2. 2nd Article testing and verification for supported platforms (revised manifold samples in manual production as of 10/11/2006)
3. Production capital – manufacturing cost has exceeded initial estimate
4. Foundry logistics

I closed the above referenced email with this:

We will deliver regardless. The only guarantee we cannot make is an exact delivery date.

With this post, I am now rescinding that last statement because of the decision to begin liquidation of assets in order to process refunds and mark the public end for IPS. For those concerned with engine builds and cam/valvetrain purchases, this decision will not affect existing open orders - they will be fulfilled.

From a business perspective, IPS is not making any money to sustain continued growth or existence. So what's to stop us from closing the doors. Passion, that was it. I'm an enthusiast and made my decisions as such. If I were truly business minded, the towel should've been thrown in a long time ago. This father's email was the straw that broke the camel's back. I am completely overwhelmed and cannot function with the stress I've chosen to endure. For this, I apologize. I am sorry that I have let everyone down, but moreso - myself.

Some may recall that my original intent for the manifold was to release and bring to market on our own terms and time schedule but the people wanted it done faster. I gave the terms and projections based upon information available to me at that point in time and allowed fellow enthusiasts to help and be apart of making it happen sooner. It's probably one of the biggest mistakes I've made to date. In contrast, most are not aware of how IPS was born and they probably don't know about the foundation years in the making prior to having a product ready to go. It's really similar to the manifold product development cycle - it took a lot of time and resources. The primary difference being that we did so in private.

That's it. Email communication is welcomed, but please do not use this thread to bash my decision.

-Ron
In regards to the header, why doesn't he just use John's header?
