Is this Intake Device for real?

Is this "vortex" insert for real? Anyone use one?

It claims +7 HP and +2-4 MPG

Edit for serious answer: It will do nothing. Any turbulence pattern produced by that silly ring, even if beneficial, will be lost when the air enters the manifold plenum and transitions into the intake runners. The only thing it might accomplish will be to further obstruct intake airflow, dropping the manifold pressure and robbing power. Don't waste your money.

I wasn't seriously considering it - I figured if it was for real and only $15 folks here would be talking about it. I smelled something funny, but I'm far from an expert on these things.

So here's another question - does a CAI improve MPG at all? I suppose most folks get it for the added power - I'm more interested in the other. Any comments?

^^ In theory, it probably helps fuel economy a tiny bit. In practice, you'll like it and rev your engine more to hear it thereby using more fuel. I would look at it this way, it doesn't hurt fuel economy.

the theory behind that vortex thing seems solid, although i still don't have faith in the product. can anyone explain to why this thing doesn't work?
