Injen Replacement Filter

Hi, I want to buy replacement filters for my RD1430 CAI. Does anyone know what the K&N part number is? I know that Injen sells one for like $50 (X-1014).

Big reason why I don't want to spend time cleaning it is that I am busy at work and need to drive over the weekends. I'll install the new filter and clean my old one, and when the new one gets dirty I'll just reinstall the old one.

Please help.

Thanks.

Doesn't it only take about 10-15 minutes to clean the filter once its out? Probably just as quick as replacing it with a new one!

After you clean it don't you need to dry naturally overnight?

No, you can remove the filter by going in through the wheel well. I was able to take mine off without even jacking the car up and removing the wheel.

I just turned my wheel all the way to the right and went at it.

to clean the filter, you have to remove it, spray it with the cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes then spray it down, then let it air dry (10-20mins) then spray on the oil and let it set for about 15-20mins and then reinstall.

that's the procedure to clean a k&n filter....

The Injen? No you dont. I just did mine recently and all you need to do is partially remove the fender well cover, and bam, theres the filter.

Did you install it yourself? There are a few clips that you need to remove along the fender well (front side of the well). There are a few clips just underneath that need to be removed as well as a couple of bolts. Its pretty easy once you look at it.

This is what I did:

I bought the K&N recharger (cleaning kit) at the local pep boys. Went home, took out the filter through the fender, pulled out the lower portion of the CAI (wanted to switch to short ram), got a bucket, placed the filter in the bucket, sprayed the filter with the K&N cleaning solution, went through half the bottle, let it soak for 10 minutes, spray the filter with hose, let the red dye run off, fill bucket with water, left the filter submerge for 30 minutes, hosed it down again, then took it into the house to dry. After the filter is dry, you need to apply the K&N oil throughout the filter. Just make sure the color of the filter is evenly red. Let it stand for 30 minutes, then plug it back into the intake.

Make sure you rinse the filter from the inside out, otherwise your just pushing dirt deeper into the filter if you blast it from the outside.

And theres no reason to use half the bottle of cleaner. Just spray till its saturated and let it sit.
