Injen intake

im thinking about getting an injen CAI for 209$ shipped, but i remember reading something about the intake sucking in water and killing the whole car..... i live in seattle where it rains allllllll the time so i was wonder if it's even a big possibility for it to suck in water or what could i buy to prevent that from happening, i looked around and saw a heat shield/ splash gaurd and was wonder if this would help prevent my intake from sucking it water

That won't help. The only way you're going to hydrolock your engine is if you completely submerge the intake in water. You'd have to drive through a 18-24" deep puddle for it to be submerged.

Several of us also live in Seattle and Portland. No issues.

I wonder if that'll really help as a heat shield?

What kinda integra was he driving and how much did you lose by? Anyhow, you should try doing the installation yourself and save that $80 bucks. It's not too hard and if you run into any problems, we'll help you out

Hey CarKc.... I drive an auto PWP Tsx ... it helps alot to stay in auto mode. Unless you are familiar with the shifting point. Your car is alot faster in auto mode. If you use "Tip" your second gear will kill you..... The honda Auto tranny is made to give best performance. Obviously it wont be better than a standard car cause they can match revs but I think the auto mode is better than Tip .... Tip is only for downshifting when you wanna pass someone ....

just my two cents ...

Just a quick word on availability of Injen CAI's PN: RD1430P, they're going for $194.30USD with free shipping at www.optionimports.com

Best price I've been able to find so far. Having it shipped to a mate in Chelan who's going to foward it on to me in Australia. With the exchange rate as good as it is, and avoiding customs duties by having other items included to make it a gift, I'm going to save a bundle!
