Injen Install....mmmm

Well since it was cold as balls outside and raining I only did the short ram install. All I can say is WOW!! The engine sounds amazing now. I will finish the install tomorrow when its not so freaking cold. I'd say with the short ram you pick up a nice 8HP. After I finish the CAI install I will prob dyno it over here at the same place I had my first dyno done at. I'll keep you guys updated

When I put mine in a few months ago I couldn't tell if it was any more power or not.

I still can't (maybe a little, plus a bit more pickup). BUT I LOVE THE SOUND!

I have mine in CAI mode. I've never tried Short Ram.

BTW. If you could possibly test in both CAI and SRI modes, we'd all love it.

I may....If I can find the same size filter up at Pep boys I just might. I really dont feel like taking off my freaking bumper to change it up....but we will see what kind of a mood im in

PS: There is a very nice gain in power though....6th gear passing from 60+ has improved drasticly!

Jab, do you have a hydraulic jack? mine and jaje's (my husband) thread in the Gallery forum has pics and instructions for installing CAI mode that involves removing the front driver's side tire, and peeling back the splash shield and loosening the bumper over where the stock resonator is.

but yes, dynos, please!

I took my whole bumper off and if you are going to loosen the dany thing, why not just take it off. Then you don't need a jack or have to remove the tire.

Seriously, the bumper is so easy to get off and back on. Besides, if you're going to mod the grill or anything, it gives you a chance to take all that stuff off too.

Yea...I plan on doing it that way. K&N actually has it in there directions to do it that way as well. But instead of pulling the fender lining all the way back...just pop the foglight cover off.

Ive tried. It just pops right off... although you may have to jiggle it a bit before it gives.

ok...finished the rest of the install this afternoon. That was a GIANT pain in the ass. That one freaking bolt on the resonator box was the hardest mofo to get off with the limited access to tools I had. Nice power....doesnt feel much different from the short ram....is a bit more tame in sound. Hopefully I'll get to the dyno tomorrow and we shall see how it turns out.

doing it in warm weather is much easier, there are 2 plastic thing just bend them a little then they come right off. putting them back is a little more difficult (overall still not hard)

Unless you drive in water up to your headlight on a regular basis...you dont need a bypass valve
