Ingalls ETD does fit on a S/Ced application
In case anyone was wondering, the Ingalls ETD does fit on a supercharged engine (manual application only, I believe) .
A common issue for people with the Cusco strut bar is clearance for the AC lines. Thanks to Josh @ Excelerate Performance, who not only sold and installed the ETD, he also used a honing machine to grind down the brackets so that they're not being pinched between the shock tower bracket and the strut bar.
Immediately, I noticed both positives and negatives after the install (similar to other people's experiences).
Pros
- No wheel hop during hard acceleration or going over bumps.
- Shifting feels much smoother and direct.
Cons
- In-cabin vibration is noticeably increased (particularly through the steering wheel)
- Hollow resonance from engine bay at low RPMs (goes away at highway speeds). At lower speeds, it makes the engine sound very unrefined, almost like a boxer engine from a Subie.
Overall, I'm still weighing the pros and cons against each other. While my priority has always been performance, I’ve also been mindful of maintaining the TSX’s luxury qualities. I'm going to give it a few more days before I make my final decision.

It's a shame to see you go - I've always been a HUGE fan of your TSX .
There's no difference in the engine bays. The AT version of the S/C kit comes with an auto tensioner which interferes with the clearance of the engine mount bracket.

That's awesome that you got it installed Dayta! This setup should work if you have the Comptech Auto-tensioner. If you have the old static tensioner that was included in the first generation TSX SC kits, it won't work though.
Keep us posted on what you think! Also, how do you like the new tranny?

As with every mod there's a tradeoff. Personally I think it's worth it. I had the ETD on my FG2 before I put on the CT blower and it definitely helped reduce wheel hop.
Looking good Jason. Keep up the good work.

I'll be keeping the ETD once we put the blower in my car. The metal resonance is slightly annoying at lower speeds but the solid shifting feel's worth it. As you say, Josh, it's all about tradeoffs. (BTW, speaking of which, I decided against the OBX hoses I was considering -- the tradeoff of "red" versus "reliable" wasn't worth the $60 gamble...)
Does the ETD not fit your Civic with the blower on? The way you wrote it, it seems like you had to remove the ETD.

Yes I did remove the ETD b/c the pulley was going to hit the bracket and there was no making it work. However, I put in the powerstick which is basically a solid dog bone. That creates more in cabin noise than anything I've done yet. But I'm also doing Innovative 75A engine mounts shortly too.
