idling with intake

i was just wondering who rpm people are idling at with an intake. i have an injen, and before i put it in, i was idling at 1000-1200 with the car warm. now i am idling at around 800-950. just trying to compare it to others with injen cai, wondering if it is normal.

The idle rpm shouldn't change, unless there's a vacuum leak somewhere...

yeah, my idling hasn't changed either. JTso, for some reason on the intake install for myself the vacuum line is a little pinched (there should still be airflow), should this be a problem?

i helped install someone else's intake and right after installing it idled at 1200 and then went down to 800 after 5 minutes.

If you are talking about the hose that connects from the intake to the valve cover, then you are fine. That hose isn't really a vacuum line, just air hose. You might be able to take the kink out by shorten it by a few mm, or rotating it around. The vacuum leak that I was referring to is any lines that connect to the intake manifold or sensors that connect to a vacuum source. For example, the PCV valve connection is one of them.

This sounds suspect...

I'm not saying that you're lying, but that's just not where the car idles at. Are you sure the engine was warm?

Something definitely doesn't sound right. I havent seen an automobile that idles above 1k when the engine's warm.

sounds like he has a proble with a sensor on the intake manifold. Making the ecu think the engine is too cold. Did you try the TB bypass by chance? And possibly screw it up?

if you screwed it up your radiator fluid would leak everywhere, you'd definately know if that happened. it has to be something else.
