Ok, so it looks as though J's is only listing a rear kit for S2000, but I pleaded our case and the supplier is contacting Japan to see if we can work something out.

Man Marcus, you need to stop finding more parts for our cars. I keep buying parts after parts form you because of all the new parts. Stop finding sweet parts already!!!

lol.

Well Marcus, I see the rear BBK from J's on other sites on the web.
Not local ones, but they're for sure out there.
And the part numbers given for them are completely correct.

Sadly, that color totally ruins it for me.

Doesn't look too bad on car but I'm sure it doesn't match your color theme.

They look super nice, just not to fond of the red.

Red on your car MMs would clash with your headlights and overall theme. Maybe you could get them painted? just shouting out ideas.

haha, I know!!! Im in the same boat as you are. I am looking into a BBK possibly, so this thread is helping me out as well. Buying parts in general is a headache because the more you find, the more you have to reserach, and the more options you have, and the more money you spend

But it is all worth the headache in the end.

Anyway, this J's Racing kit looks so much like the Endless 6-pot Mini caliper. I wonder if Endless is doing the private labeling for J's Racing using Endless kit.

MMsTSX, maybe you should tell us what's the color preference in your mind?

I know you like rare items that nobody has as I've seen what you have done on your car. However, function > fashion for brakes. I personally would not justify to pay $2000 extra for the same look, same function but different brand. But of course, I know you are loaded, so your standard will be much higher than mine.

If I were in your situation, I would find the cheapest BBK that perform JUST the same as every brand does, and CUSTOM PC the color I want. At the end, we can't put a statement IF Brembo <> Endless <> J'sRacing <> Project Mu <> Stoptech <> Wilwood <> Alcon, simply they will perform about the same given the same Brake pad, and same brake fluid and same road condition. Weight will be varies but within 1-2kg, which is already half the weight of stock weight already... so.. .GL.

colors:

blue (light or dark)
black
chrome
silver maybe

my car is CGP, with tinted tails, and JDM lights (blue)
my rims will be the gunmetal sort of color.
so something that will go with that okay and blend.

Stoptech is the best brand for me it seems.
But they're american and I don't like the logo.

Their caliper color is fine (blue probably) and their
rotors are fine too (I'd go drilled, no zinc).

They make front and back BBK, and I can get it all for $5k,
which isn't bad at all considering.

But the car is a beast of its own really. Kind of demanding the best
I can get for it.

I don't want to have buyers remorse if I buy the stoptech package, you know?

I don't like knowing somebody has something better on their car either, lol.

Everything else I have going is JDM bling stuff, so I figure I'll roll with it.
I wish I could get an Endless back setup, grrr.

I'm still undecided for sure. Your point is valid for sure, but you know...

Here's what I have seen from the past so far...

Blue- Rotora; Endless; Stoptech (option); Spoon (their blue)
Black- Brembo; Stoptech; AP Racing; Greddy; Wilwood
Chrome (polish)- Endless; Greddy
Silver- Alcon; Brembo; Stock

Choices are very limited and put in the fact that it needs to fit our car, priceless. I think 06tsx's friend has chrome BBK on his car, the search function doesn't work now maybe PM him for pictures.

BTW: If you go all out to swap your front + rear to BBK, you might want to upgrade you MC to TL/RL BBK MC; since the there's more piston to push all around, the stock MC MIGHT NOT be sufficient. If the MC fluid only have enough juice to push half of your BBK, you know it's going to haul half ass and not better than stock.

Actually I was just looking into master cylinder stuff a second ago.
I'll certainly have to upgrade it.

Especially if I end up with a real BBK in the front and back, meaning Stoptech.

The spoon are nice, but small and front only.
If Project Mu made front and rear, I could get over the teal color, but they don't.
There's a T1R set for the front too.

I'm either going to talk myself into getting Stoptech, or Marcus will pull
a miracle and somehow find a way to get Endless front and back, or
maybe I'll go Endless up front and Stoptech in the back, and have the
back Stoptech powdercoated to match the Endless blue and to wipe the
Stoptech logo off of the caliper. lol.

I don't know really.

With money you can MAKE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE~@!!!! I'm starting on my CFA stuff and hopefully a few years later I can make some real $$$.

Your idea on the Stoptech PC + wipe off the logo is.... haha... not my cup of tea. It's a little bit of a waste for that badge, when people see the BBK w/out the logo, it's gonna be wtf, is that calipers cover on ebay? haha

I was thinking, since you are leaning towards powdercoat route, and darker color is your taste, what about PC to your CGP color w/ alot of sparkling (kinda like pearl). That will be definetly custom and unique since NO BRAND has it~!!

I don't know how it will looks, but try to photoshop it and see if you are satisfy with the result.

If the BBK is well engineered, you don't need to upgrade the MC. Many people have the misconception that when the brake calipers and rotors are bigger, the MC must have to be upgraded as well. That's not true. The BBK companies will use different piston sizes (usually smaller) to maintain the proper brake balance.

Well we have confirmed J's HAS a rear CL7 kit which we are assuming will fit the TSX as well. It is a variation on the S2000 kit but it is NOT the same.

Will be replying on the Stoptech quote shortly, and perhaps look into the Endless option, which I personally would LOVE to see on the car.

I hear that.

And you know, the more I see the Project Mu on cars, the more I like it too.

It's no doubt down to Endless blue and Project Mu.

If I can get anything from either on the back, it's most likely a done deal.

Soon Marcus, we'll have scouted out every CL7 and CL9 part and you can have
everything on your site.
Heeltoe will be a one stop paradise, although it's already 95% there, lol.

I might need some Heeltoe Anonymous meetings soon.

from Endless USA regarding a rear BBK for our car:

"Dear Drew, We do not produce a rear brake system for the TSX. Best Regards,
Dominic Chen"

"Hi Dominic,
Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any chance I could modify a rear BBK kit that's currently on the market to fit my tsx?

Sent from my iPhone"

"Dear Drew, Potentially, yes. However, the products we produce are intended for race use. The front brake system for the TSX is a 6-pot mini using a 324mm rotor. The smallest rear brake system we offer for any vehicle is a Racing 4-pot with a 332mm rotor, larger than your front. Finding something smaller for the rear or increasing the size of your front brake system would upset the brake balance of your car. You could end up with a car that tends to lock all four of it's wheels instead of slowing down effectively. We always highly recommend against any type of custom work when it comes to brake systems not normally offered. If the TSX could have benefited from a larger brake system, it would have been made available. Best Regards,
Dominic Chen"

Endless provides custom colors for the calipers if I remember right.
I believe J's Racing should have the same service at more cost, too.
Or, some shops provides powder coating service for the brake calipers.

I've considered that for the BBK I'm installing soon. However, something about the idea of disassembling the calipers of a brand new BBK for powdercoating doesn't sit well with me. Think I'm gonna live with the red...

I still think you should go with StopTech for a full upgrade. The products that they specialize in are only braking and if they weren't up to par, they wouldn't be in business for ~9 years.

The logo is not that terrible, especially for something that has the R&D to back it up. Plus you can get them in almost any color...

at first I'm thinking... nah, I like the blue better I think.

then I read the comments above.

subtle....

yeah, I do like subtle.
and the chrome matches the car perfectly.

it would actually be the best bet for matching, stealth brakes for me.

soooooo......

if they are being sold, you know who to pm!
