Hondata for AT...

I know there have been threads on this before but I just wanted the people with AT with hondata to chime in and give me their opinions on Hondata,

Was it worth it?

Do you regret getting it?

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being head over heals in love with the car with hondata and 1 being very dissapointed what would you rate the reflash?

Do you have to go past 5k to really notice a difference?

Is there a better way to use 600.00?

Great question to be asked a few weeks after living with Hondata.

I'm interested in the responses as well.

I absolutely love it. It get's a 10/10 from me. No regrets whatsoever. And no, you'll notice a bit of a difference starting around 3K and then all the way up to the new 7600 rpm fuel cut-off. It's great since the engine really comes alive. Only disadvantage is that I'm tempted more than ever to run it into the high rpms just for fun.

10/10 from the California judge as well.

I've had mine for about 2 months now. The difference is night and day IMO. The car felt a lot more sluggish before Hondata. I think it's the best bang for the buck mod, and I would recommend it.

I have a review here. Let me warn you, it's long though.

Any word on how it changed zero-to-sixty times? Quarter mile? I'm thinking of getting a TSX in the next year or so, but the only thing that makes me hesitate is possible lack of power....I really want a car that can get around 7.0 seconds in 0-60 times....

1. Worth it: YES.

2. Regrets: NO. (except I had to replace the plastic steering column cover. When taking out immobilizer. 1 of the little plastic hooks that hold it in place snapped off and I couldn't stand looking at the little gap that only I saw where it didn't snap in properly anymore...)

3. Rating on scale of 10: 9 out of 10

4. Only really notice difference past 5k rpm? No, throttle response and torque are noticeably better under 5k rpm also. This is a big issue too. Most high-revvers we know would be happy with Hondata cause they obviously enjoy and spend time above 5k rpm and will probably use the higher redline. BUT, I spend most of my driving time under 5k and will probably not test the new redline. I can honestly say that Hondata is a good mod even in these circumstances.

5. I only have an icebox intake and I think the $600 is well worthwhile compared to even the $150 of the icebox. I don't have experience with other performance mods, but I think it is safe to say from everything I've read and from firsthand exp. with hondata on the 5AT TSX, you would be hard pressed to find a more noticeable increase in useable torque, with virtually no downside, than the reflash.

However, I think I said this somewhere else though too: Its not like it makes it a new car or anything - so don't anyone expect the TSX to all of a sudden be this muscle car. Still an automatic sedan. But definitely a good, noticeable improvement for the relative cost.

and I didn't even get any Hondata stickers (not that I really would use them anyway). hope their quality control on the reflash is better than the sticker insertion process they have implemented... lol.
