hid fog light help!

hey guys,
i am thinking of getting hid fog light for my 2004 tsx, could you guys help me out here:

1. i don't even have the factory fog light kit or some sort, i guess since the fog light harness and wires are not built in (are they?), i need to get a factory fog light kit in order to make hid kit work?

2. if the factory kit is really needed, where will be a good place to buy? i've checked with dealer and they sold the kit for almost 350, seems too expensive for me. can i just get some "oem-style" fog light kit to make it work?

3. where are the good places to get hid fog light kit? i've googled and searched but i just can't find those (except the thread about the kaixen kit here).

thank you so much!!

1. it would not be too hard to wire your own foglights, assuming you have some basic electrical skills, although HID bulbs are suggested to only be installed in a shop, i would think that there is probably a wire ran for the foglights even if you do not have that accessory, although i wouldnt imagine it would be very easy to find/utilize

2. there are several places listed on this site that sell OEM parts at much less than dealer prices. although i do not think you need to get this item you can purchase OEM parts online for way cheaper.

3. i could not tell you a reliable place to purchase HID bulbs or fog light set ups but i would suggest starting in the black market and checking out some of the vendors in there.

1). OEM will fit the best, you can get them on e-bay as long as it's not "OEM-Style" cause that's fake. And yes to run fogs to look stock you will need it and it's virtually plug and play and there are several threads on here on how to do it.

2). Refer above

3). xtralights.com has a crap load of applications running from 3K - 13K (k meaning kelvins not thousands )

Password JDM offers a nice fog light kit. It has a yellow lens though, which I think is perfect but if you want a bluish tinted HID fog light then they won't work.

I am a dealer for Password so let me know if you need a kit.

Password JDM...seems cool, but i prefer clear white lens, thank you for the info.

xtralights hid fog light kit seems pretty good to me...has anyone had any experience with them? what's the brand for the hid bulb in this kit? (xtralights?)

will those "oem-style" fog light kit work well with the hid kit?...they are just a lot cheaper.

what are other options besides xtralights?

ok, i've purchased the kaixen hid fog light kit, now i have to find a good set of oem fog light kit...

1. where can i get the "genuine oem fog light kit" in good price? so far the best deal i got is about 300 usd, seems a bit expensive for me

2. ebay has a bunch of these "oem style fog light kit" selling for 40 usd, are they good at all? has anyone had these with their hid fog light?

3. xtralights.com also has a set of "oem style fog light kit" selling for 130 usd, are they any better than the ones on ebay? (since xtralights seems like a reputable store, their products might be better in quality?)

thanks guys

I have OEM foglights but I'm really thinking about changing those h11 to HID's. Do I just buy HID bulbs and replace the OEM bulbs or do I need a conversion kit? And what kind of HID specifically fits?

you need a hid fog light kit, these are plug and play systems, check out the blackmarket for the kaixen kit sold by one of the vendors here.

Ive searched through a lot, and it seems like the range of H11 HID kit is from 100~400.

i've been to Ebay,McCulloch,M-TEC,Kaixen, and others...

i've just come across this website, www.hidworld.com , the HID kit (including the bulbs) is 199.00

however, shipping is free, and there's a winter sale going on, 25 dollars off.
so the whole HID kit, which looks reasonably good, bulb and shipping total is ~174.00

Anyone ever purchased items from here?
What do you guys think about THIS HID kit? i think it's a good deal.

by the way, they are selling Conquer HID system

it is also sold in www.hidbuy.com , which seems like the same company as hidworld.com

but hidworld.com being more cheaper

The OEM fog light kit can be purchased from your local Acura Dealer for something in the $140 range, and install is another $120. The kits on eBay are replica foggies but I've heard they work just as well as the OEM ones.

thanks for clarifying.. finally a reply to my question.
I ended up cramming this HID fog issue, and checked out at hidplanet forum as well

it turns out that spending 400~500 will give u a nice HID kit, but i'm not going to spend that much... i have OEM with 8000K HID D2s in my head, and that's good enough, i'm not looking to buy HID fog for "better view" issue, it's more for the look

i'm going to purchase 10,000K H11 or 8000K
i'll post how it goes
