Help with Bedding in New Brake Pads + Rotors Please!

As most of us are aware of the infamous brake issues that cause warpage and vibrations, I decided to swap out my stock rotors and pads to Brembo Blanks + Hawk Ceramics.

The rotors and pads are going on tomorrow, but I am having trouble with how I should bed in the pads. Instructions on the Brembo rotors say go easy with braking for the first 150-200 miles, and try not to drag the brakes (do not apply brakes for more than 3 seconds continuously if possible). However, the instructions on the pads say do a few moderate stop from 30-35mph, then a few hard stops from 40-45mph, and let them cool for 15min.

I am stratching my head now, as I don't know if I should follow the "gentle" procedure as instructed by Brembo or the hard stops as instructed by the pads. I read through a few threads here on AZ, and noticed most fellow forum members are doing the moderate + hard stops method.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Bed in the rotors first using Brembo's gentle routine. After that 200 miles, you can do the hard bedding in for the Hawk Ceramics. And yes, the Hawk Ceramics NEED the hard bedding in. I have tried going the gentle route and it was no good for these pads.

Why is the bedding process needed? Does new cars have this procedure? I say just ease use of the brake in the first 500 miles. I just have bad bedding experiance and the another vehicle where I did not bed in the new rotor and brake, did so much better.

I'm not exactly sure if new cars have this procedure. According to the owners manual, it states not to brake the car too hard for the first 500km. However, I got aftermarket rotors and pads. The purpose of the bed in procedure is to evenly transfer pad material onto the rotor to maximize braking performance and minimize problems such as vibrations (i.e. when the pad deposits unevenly onto the rotor, causing non-uniform thickness).

It is needed because he has Hawk Ceramic pads.
